Job Overview:
Shriners Children?s Portland is seeking a full time Advance Practice Provider (APP) (Physician Assistant (PA-C), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)). The provider will assist in management of pediatric patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Schedule will be 4-10 hour shifts with no nights or call expected.
Responsibilities:
- Attend general and specialty orthopedic outpatient clinics, coordinating surgeries, diagnostic studies, and following up with patients and families
- Obtain and document appropriate health histories and perform physical exams and formulate treatment plans
- Order appropriate treatment and/or diagnostic studies
- Enter post-op orders, enter perioperative documentation, manage post-op patients on the Inpatient Unit
- Potential to provide assistance in surgical cases at a first assistant level based on training and experience
- Prescribe medications pursuant to Oregon laws and regulations
- Make appropriate referrals as needed
- Educate patients/parents regarding identified health conditions and findings
- Communicate with community care providers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up requirements
Qualifications:
- Active Oregon Physician Assistant license required
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
- NCCPA board certification required
- Active DEA license required
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
- Experience in managing pediatric patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings are preferred

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $104,500 to $156,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
