Responsible for managing supplies and other equipment within the unit.

Maintains competent peri-operative skill level to ensure provision of safe quality patient care is sensitive to the needs of patients, families and fellow co-workers; plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with age-specific needs; plan and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with any identified cultural diversity needs (such as religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities, and cultures); plans and provides professional nursing care for patients by assuring appropriate and effective pain management; assess, report, and assist any patients that present with evidence of abuse and/or neglect; and supports the mission of Mercy.

Position Details: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Experience: Working knowledge and competency in basic procedures as defined as: General procedures, GYN, EENT, Urology, Orthopedic procedures (i.e., ORIF ankle, or hip with cannulated screws, knee arthroscopy, I & D washouts, fasciotomy, AKA, BKA, closed reduction with or without pinning, DHS), Plastic procedures, Basic Cardiovascular procedure (i.e., mediastinoscopy, carotid endarterectomy, pacemaker, creation of AV fistula, pericardial window) and Basic neurological procedures (i.e., single level spine, simple burr holes, single level decompression and carpal tunnel).
Certifications: CPR ACLS or scheduled in next available class.
Preferred Experience: One year medical-surgical experience and/or one year operating room experience preferred.
Preferred Other: Progressive leadership skills desired.

In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Qualifications:
- Required Education:
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- Preferred Education:

- Licensure:
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience:
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg.
- For all other specialties (ICU and Women's Health), a minimum of two years of recent bed-side RN experience.
- Certifications:
For Med Surg and Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B) - BLS
For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS
- For Emergency Department - BLS, ACLS, & PALS

Our Med Surg Service Line offers a dynamic environment where you’ll gain experience across 8 specialty units, caring for patients with a wide range of diagnoses and needs. These units support patients preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions, giving you the opportunity to build a strong foundation in diverse clinical skills.
While you’ll have a home unit, we believe in cross-training to broaden your expertise and confidence in caring for patients with varying conditions, comorbidities, and procedures. Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (or equivalent experience with licensure).

This unit will care for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students who will take total care of the 4 patients. A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support/oversight of the students. Beds: 18
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1
Patient Population: Stroke and back surgery; patients with neurological/neurosurgical/surgical and urological diagnosis.
