Job Details 7AM-3:30PM Shift (Monday-Friday) About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support laboratory and facility operations in a dynamic, technical environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working with both people and equipment.
You’ll play a key role in keeping critical systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably—while also contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on laboratory and facility equipment, including: HVAC systems Heat exchangers Natural gas–fired kilns Induction and electrical resistance furnaces Dust collection systems Drying ovens and hydraulic presses Identify equipment issues and recommend repairs, upgrades, or process improvements Work independently or collaboratively as part of a close-knit team Partner with the Lab Manager to prioritize maintenance activities and improve PM processes Accurately document work performed, including repairs and summaries Use a CMMS system to schedule PMs, manage work orders, and track improvements Support lab construction, installation, and equipment upgrade projects Communicate effectively with vendors (in person, phone, and email) to resolve issues quickly Manage spare parts inventory in coordination with the Lab Manager Notify staff of equipment downtime and return-to-service status Assist engineers by building prototypes and supporting experimental setups Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace Follow all applicable health and safety standards Continuously learn new skills and pursue relevant certifications Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience Maintenance, facilities, or technical support experience preferred Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs; CMMS experience a plus Ability to read blueprints and follow project plans Technical Skills Mechanical aptitude with experience in: Basic electrical systems Plumbing Carpentry Welding, cutting, or brazing Masonry HVAC systems Additional Skills Comfortable using computers or tablets (Microsoft Office experience preferred) Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proactive mindset with a passion for problem-solving and improvement Interested in hearing more?
