About the job:
Medical Lab Techs and Medical Techs perform laboratory and/or phlebotomy testing in support of our clinical operations. They not only have knowledge of the clinical significance of lab results, they also monitor and understand our high tech instrumentation at a professional level, and report results accurately and rapidly on an ongoing basis.
Night shift 10:00 pm - 6:30 a.m.; every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage.
What you will do:
- Practices established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
- Performs routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Teaches laboratory procedures to other Technologists and Technicians.
What we are looking for:
- Education: Associate's degree Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Position Purpose:
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

About the Unit:
The Medical/Surgical Ortho unit at Mount Carmel East has 31 beds and 20 telemetry units. The RN could expect to see cases related to total joint replacement surgery, orthopedic procedures, orthopedic trauma, fractures such as upper and lower extremity (hip and pelvis), general bone and soft tissue issues, neuro-spine surgery, general med/surg patients, and negative pressure isolation. This unit utilizes both RNs and LPNs to provide excellent patient care.

Continuity Planning – Identifies discharge needs, coordinates planning, and problem solves continuity issues to ensure seamless continuum of patient care; collaborates with hospital based case managers to ensure effective care continuum and discharge plans are met. Collaboration – collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare disciplines, and outside agencies regarding patient stay management and care coordination issues. Initiates appropriate consults, e.g., physician and other ancillary services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from school of nursing; BSN or Master’s Degree preferred
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
Experience: Minimum of five years recent acute care clinical experience in disease specialty nursing (in an acute care setting and/or physician office setting); med/surg and critical care experience helpful.
