• All seasonal staff are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Regardless of start date, seasonal program/assignment ends on March 31, 2026.

• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee), if holidays fall during their temporary assignment period.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. What you will do in this role:

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.   
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
• Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
• Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.

Experience  

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience in as a NICU Registered Nurse (RN) 

• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting – preferred  

Education 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)  

License and Certifications 

• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy  

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy

St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, is recognized by the State of Texas as a Level IV Maternal Facility. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-related conditions, including those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigation and support program.

St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. As a Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care.

• You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness
• You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals
• You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
• You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
• You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care
• You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments
• You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team

Requirements

Experience

The Observation RN CM is responsible for progressing the care for Observation patient and ensures progression of care by reviewing the case promptly and applying IP IQ criteria. The Observation RN CM adheres to HCA standards regarding observation management. In addition, the Observation RN CM will be responsible for adhering to the 2 Midnight Process. The Observation RN CM works closely with the physician by monitoring the case and keeping the physician abreast of findings so appropriate and timely decisions can be made to admit or discharge the patient. When the observation CM identifies barriers that prevent progression, the Observation RN CM will directly intervene to remove the barrier. If the Observation RN CM cannot remove the barrier, the Observation RN CM will escalate the situation to the facility Director of Case Management who will advise on next steps (e.g., contact CMO, CNO, PA). The Observation RN CM is responsible for identification of observation patients with discharge planning needs that could lead to poor outcomes or a return to the hospital. If the Observation RN CM encounters such a patient, the Observation RN CM assumes responsibility for referring to the inpatient RN CM/Social Worker, who will complete a discharge planning evaluation and/or a psychosocial assessment and assume the transition of care. The Observation RN CM coordinates activities that promote quality outcomes and patient throughput while supporting a balance of optimal care and appropriate resource utilization. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provides case management services for both inpatient and observation patients as assigned.
• Identifies patients who are at risk for adverse outcomes during the transition from one level of care/setting to another. 
• Performs a comprehensive assessment of psychosocial, medical and discharge needs of patients/family along with an assessment of resources appropriate and available to the patient/family.
• Reassesses the patient’s clinical condition as indicated. Considers patient’s readmission status or risk of readmission and develops strategies to mitigate, including education on appropriately accessing healthcare resources, preventative education, and community based resources.
• Coordinates the plan of care and drives the discharge plan by collaborating with the multidisciplinary health care team and with the patient's physician to facilitate a successful care transition. 
• Partners with Social Services to ensure the post-acute medical needs and level of care are appropriate.
• Assumes responsibility for timely referral to Social Services when risk factors for psychosocial determinants of health are identified. 
• Involves patient and family/responsible/significant others in identifying and clarifying needs and expectations to develop mutual and realistic goals. 
• Evaluates progression of care using evidence-based tools and approved criteria (InterQual) throughout the episode of care; escalates progression and transition of care issues through the established chain of command. 
• Makes appropriate referrals to third party payer and disease and case management programs for recurring patients and patients with chronic disease states. 
• Facilitates patient throughput with an ongoing focus on an effective care transition, quality, and efficiency. 
• Documents professional recommendations, discharge plan, care coordination interventions, and case management activities to effectively communicate to all members of the health care team. 
• Aligns patient needs with available resources to ensure a safe discharge/transition. 
• Acts as a liaison through effective and professional communications between and with physicians, patient/family, hospital staff, and outside agencies. 
• Seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.

Under the direction of the physicians, the Imaging Manager, this position performs nursing support functions for patients brought to the radiology department. This position works closely with all other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of both diagnostic and interventional studies while also promoting optimal unit operations. The Registered Nurse- Radiology adheres to the ICARE values while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This stakeholder must strive to ensure optimal patient safety, security, throughput, and adhere to all applicable regulation and policies. 

What you will do:

• Provide direct nursing care for Radiology patients, including conscious sedation and medication administration.
• Assess patient condition and understanding before, during, and after procedures; monitor for physiological changes and report to the physician.
• Administer medications as ordered, including narcotics, and maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
• Perform post-procedure care and communicate patient status to receiving units using approved hand-off tools.
• Maintain and check emergency equipment, crash cart, and medication stock; troubleshoot and report equipment issues as needed.
• Respond promptly to Radiology calls (phone within 10 minutes; on-site within 30–45 minutes) and coordinate coverage for multiple areas.
• Assist with procedures requiring RN support, including Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests.

Neonatal Program Manager’s responsibilities include Performance Improvement activities, chart review, gap identification, change implementation, daily patient rounds, policy and protocol review, and nursing education. In addition, ability to abstract information from identified high risk patient medical records as needed. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the registry, verification and updating of information compiled and preparing reports as requested. In addition, the program manager will serve as the primary key contact for the facilities Neonatal Level III program. The roles and responsibilities will be primarily in a managerial, administrative role with clinical responsibilities based on the needs of the unit and may be adjusted from time to time to accommodate the changing needs of the unit 

• You must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and St. David's North Austin Medical Center. 
• You will develop and oversee the curriculum for critical care training for Neonatal nurses including initial entrance into the program as well as maintenance of skills. 
• You will provide classes/skills labs to NICU nurses regarding physiology of high-risk and VLBW newborns and management of certain conditions that require high level of care. 
• You will collaborate with Perinatal Quality Manager in preparing and conducting annual team-based simulation and/or learning scenarios for all physicians and nurses, including disaster preparation and evacuation drill. 
• You will collaborate with neonatal navigator in regards to NICU patients with very high-risk conditions requiring multidisciplinary care at time of delivery and during NICU stay. This includes but is not limited to selecting nurses for care of these patients and assessing any knowledge or preparatory needs, coordinating pre and post huddles, coordinating debriefing if indicated, and follow-up education regarding any critical care occurrences. 
• You will complete quarterly assessment of designation requirements assuring that we continue to meet the standards necessary for Level III. This includes but is not limited to nursing education, staffing assessments (both nursing and ancillary staff), appropriate use of policies and protocols and related documentation. 
• You will co-lead QAPI for our NICU program as well as providing education and support of same for outlying facilities as required by neonatal designation. This includes but is not limited to meetings and/or assessments of quality metrics, identification of systems and/or educational gaps, participation in SEA discussions, review of transports and processes, web based and onsite sessions with outlying facilities. 
• You will maintain Neonatal Designation Level III following Texas Department of Health (TDH) code for compliance, as well as documentation of all designation requirements and prepare all documentation necessary for any interim assessments or re-certifications as required by the State of Texas. 
• You will attend Perinatal Care Region (PCR) meetings, and share information with the relevant stakeholders. Participate in local and state committees related to perinatal services and neonatal quality outcomes as a representative of WCOT. Attend quarterly CATRAC meetings that must be 100% per TDH. 
• You will attend Pediatric Section and OB Section meetings along with the Neonatal Medical Director. 

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing & a minimum of three years of experience in NICU nurse. 
• Required: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must:  apply for Texas RN license within 60 days from hire / obtain current TX RN license within 6 months of application for TX RN license 
• BLS certification as per SDH policy; NRP certification as per SDH policy.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) unit at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center treats adults facing blood cancer and hematologic disorders in the Central Texas region. Our 24 bed inpatient unit provides stem cell transplants, Car T cell therapy and clinical trials, with a focus on providing exceptional care and cutting edge treatments close to home. In partnership with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, we are proud to be the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on the TCT unit you will be responsible for the care of blood and marrow transplant patients, patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders, patients experiencing oncological emergencies, and others meeting admission criteria. Common diagnoses seen include acute leukemia, non hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma. You will be responsible for a maximum of 4 patients in this acute care setting.

The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigation and support program.

St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. Job Summary and Qualifications 

 The Registered Nurse (RN) Case Management Supervisor is a working leader who promotes patient-centered care by coordinating the plan of care throughout the patient stay, managing length of stay, ensuring appropriate resource utilization, and developing a safe and appropriate discharge plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The Supervisor facilitates the progression and transition of care using established criteria and supports quality outcomes and patient throughput while balancing optimal care and resource efficiency. In addition to maintaining a full caseload, the RN Case Management Supervisor provides clinical leadership and operational support to the RN Case Management team. This includes mentoring staff, monitoring documentation and regulatory compliance, supporting daily operations, and collaborating with the Manager to implement performance improvement initiatives and staff development programs. The Supervisor serves as a resource for complex cases, escalates barriers to care, and fosters a culture of accountability, excellence, and teamwork

What qualifications you will need: 

Education & Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Required
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience. Required
• Minimum 2 years case management experience. Required
• Prior Team Lead or Supervisory experience preferred Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, Training:

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery 
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification 
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy 
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies 
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives 
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more 
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly 
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures 

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
