Realize Your Vision as a Registered Nurse

• Supervise care and treatments, lead patient assessments, tailor care plans, and address patient concerns to provide exceptional care.

We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit or PCU. Our unit is an intermediate unit that is a step down from our intensive care but a step above med/surg as far as patient acuity

Cardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.

No vents. - Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow ) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.

Fast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department--busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.

Requires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork

• Required Education: Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days 
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, IV Certification within 1 year.

The Medical A floor at Mercy Jefferson is a fast-paced 30-bed unit that cares for patients of all ages. Many of the patients are chronically ill and require multidiscipline treatment plans and goals. As part of the health care team, you will help educate patients on a wide variety of topics ranging from procedural/surgical expectations to what medications patients will be taking once discharged. Potential health care workers who are compassionate, team-orientated, hard-working, flexible, enjoy caring for people from all walks of life, will find working on this unit very rewarding while expanding their clinical knowledge base and enhancing their skills.

A home health nurse manages a caseload of patients experiencing a wide range of health conditions. The home health nurse provides pertinent patient education, treatment, and emotional support to help these individuals recover from injuries and illnesses and/or manage chronic disease processes. The home health nurse demonstrates excellent assessment skills and is technically proficient. Requires ability to anticipate and respond to changes in clinical status of patients. Position requires excellent rapport, understanding, and communication with the patients and their family members.
