Position Summary: Cardiology/ EP Concentration. In Collaboration with the Attending Physicians, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients in the Electrophysiology Outpatient and Inpatient areas. You will work with a team of Advanced Clinical Practice Providers, Nurses and Technicians to evaluate and manage patients with conduction system disorders, arrhythmias, Pacemakers and Defibrillators.

Experience: Prefer Cardiology or EP experience, either as Advanced Practice Provider or in Nursing. Orientation will be customized based on experience.

Education: Masters degree or greater. Graduate from an ANA accredited School of Nursing.

Required License / Credentials: Current New Jersey License as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Certification as an Advanced Pratice Nurse through a specialty association. Current CDS and DEA licenses required. Current CDS and DEA required within 6-months of employment. Approval of credentials and clinical privileges per Center procedure.

Other Required Skills: Maintain required continuing education credits, maintain current BLS and ACLS certification, and completes required education for nurse practitioner recertification of 20 hours of category 1 contact hours/year. 50% of the overall credits per 5 years must be from an approved ANCC provider. Computer proficiency.

Contact With Others: Regular internal and/or external contacts involving considerable tact, discretion and persuasion in order to obtain information and/or willing action or consent where it would otherwise be difficult to obtain.

Supervision Given: To staff RN?s patients, families, therapists.

Supervision Received: Performs duties commensurate with approved privileges, following established procedures and reporting to immediate supervisor.

The starting salary range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000

Position Summary: Seeking an experienced cardiothoracic operating room physician assistant with cardiothoracic experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong cardiothoracic surgery bypass, valve and aneurysm experience, in addition to endoscopic vein harvesting experience. As a surgical assistant PA, you will assist the cardiothoracic surgeon in the operating room in performing bypass, valve replacement/repair, aortic reconstruction, aneursym repair and some minimally invasive approach procedures. This position will work directly with the cardiothoracic surgeon in the care of the surgical patient, pre-, intra, and post procedure and function on a rotation with two CT surgeons. Experience Required or Preferred:

• Minimum 3-5 years PA experience and CT surgery background.

Education:

• Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

License and Credentials:

• Required: Current NCCPA.
• Current BLS required and ACLS certification preferred
• CDS and DEA licenses required for Physician Assistants
• Approval of credentials and clinical privileges per Center procedure

Skills

• Able to harvest saphenous veins and radial arteries in addition to assisting in the operating room during cardiothoracic procedures. Prepares harvested vein/radial artery for coronary artery grafting including making and closing incisions. Assists attending surgeon as either a first or second assistant. Participates in fundamental operating room techniques including aseptic technique, tying knots, hemostasis, tissue handling, primary closure of sternotomies, leg incisions ect. Acts as a consultant to operating room personnel concerning cardiac surgery protocols and patient care as designated by the supervising physician.

Hours: Full-time hours 80 per pay period

The starting salary range for this position is $128,000 to $155,000

Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.

Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.
