As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Essential Functions:
Conducts assessment
Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care
Implements outcome/goal - based plan of care
Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal - based plan as needed
Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals
Demonstrates clinical competence
Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable
Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation. Assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., tympanometry, spirometry). Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under the direction of providers.
Prepare and organize patient charts with necessary information. File dictations and ensure completion of all required documentation. Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care
Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information. Assist with patient outreach for overdue visits, labs, and referrals.
Coordinate physician schedules and ensure insurance pre-certifications. Schedule and manage patient follow-ups, ensuring continuity of care.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational standards and ethical guidelines.
Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
Promote evidence-based resources to optimize nursing practice and patient care.
Proactively serves as a patient advocate by utilizing courteous and professional etiquette at all times reflecting positive tone and speaking distinctly with poise, tact and assurance. Assures accurate and complete messages to appropriate personnel.
Assists in training, orienting, and supporting new colleagues. Work includes cross coverage in other clinic areas as team needs.
Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Must obtain one of the following certifications listed for a Medical Assistant with their corresponding listed certification provider within one year of hire:

Position Purpose
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care in a clinic or practice environment. Rad Techs perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease
What you will do
Routinely produces high quality images using proper exposure values and positioning. Images routinely have two visible borders of coning.
Completes all requested work in a timely and orderly manner to maintain proper patient flow with other staff technologists.
Assists supervisor or designee in coordinating procedures properly. Informs supervisor when cases are completed or pending and signs in and out of department correctly.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate from a Radiology Program is required.
Mammography certification is required for technologists working in Women's Center.
Hospital experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred

Documentation – complete required documentation promptly and accurately to support resident care.
Consult with the RN on any changes in a care plan or schedule and communicate with patients and their families about their care plan.
Attends and actively participates in in-servicing, orienting and educational activities.
Education Requirements:
Must be a high school graduate.
Must graduate from a nursing education program acceptable to the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Must be licensed with current registration in New York.
Must be able to:
Stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time
Read and write using medical terminology
Working knowledge of computers including electronic medication administration records, processing of orders, checking email, and preforming required in servicing, along with use of other required applications
Have the visual and auditory acuity adequate to perform observations and patient care

Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident
Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness
Pay range: $24-$30.10 (this position would be eligible for shift differentials $4.00per hour/ $8.00 per hour on weekends)
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location

The job requires some accountability for scheduling, assigning or coordinating work. Employees check the quality of work and provide guidance, instruction, training and direction to others. Although the job does not require formal or official supervisory responsibility, the incumbent serves as group leader or acts in an informal assistant supervisory or lead role. In addition, the employee may be expected to provide information or suggestions on human resources matters.
Materials Responsibility: Limited: Work requires limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets. The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss. Problems associated with material resources are not complex. The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with these resources is uncomplicated.
Education:
Associates Degree in nursing
Registered Nurse in Iowa or Illinois required upon Hire. Second State License required in 12 months
Basic Life Support
Less than one year experience Required
Experience in Pediatric, Obstetrical or Surgical Experience relevant to clinic setting preferred

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Uses a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge. Independently delivers nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Job duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific.
· Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
· Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. The acceptable credentialing body is the American Heart Association.
· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to populations served within three (3) months of hire.
· Ability to read, write and speak English language.
