The Nutrition Services Aide is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the foodservice department, which may include: delivery and retrieval of patient trays, stocking supplies in various areas of the hospital, operating a POS system, portioning food, general cleaning responsibilities including ware washing, delivering, staging, and cleaning up of catered functions, answering and processing calls for patient meal requests.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares, sets, and serves all food as directed ensuring proper temperatures and portion sizes.

Performs minor food preparation and portioning tasks in accordance with departmental policy.

Prepares and gathers all items needed for snacks and breaks and ensures they are delivered to the proper areas.

Helps in tray assembly.

Delivers trays to patients in accordance with established facility and departmental procedures.

Utilizes established two patient identifiers to ensure patient safety.

Double checks tray for accuracy and nutrition order compliance prior to delivery.

Ensures the tray is positioned properly for the patient; assists the patient with the opening of any tray elements; and checks with patient for the need of any additional or missing items.

Picks up soiled trays in a timely manner and returns trays to kitchen for proper cleaning and storage.

Ensures and maintains proper food quality and temperature.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Walking for up to 7 hours, 30 minutes at a time; sitting for up to 1 hour at a time and standing up to 1 ½ hours for 30 minutes at a time.

Frequently uses handling and occasionally twisting/turning, lifting (1-50 lb.), carrying (1-50 lb.), pushing (1-50 lb.), and pulling (1-50 lb.).

When performing essential functions, occasionally involves with stooping/bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder level.

Employee must have the ability to hear normal conversation, have general vision, far vision, and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D.

Luke’s interdisciplinary treatment team consists of experienced mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, case managers, behavioral health technicians and activity therapists.

The Behavioral Health Technician works under the supervision of the professional licensed nurse, performing clinical, as well as clerical functions within the behavioral inpatient service.

In our 10 in-patient hospital-based units, the multidisciplinary team approach assists and promotes our patients’ understanding of behavioral health issues so that they can begin the journey to recovery.

Luke’s Behavioral Health Network Float Pool provides support to the campuses where in-patient behavioral health services are rendered, as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels which allow our Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) to provide top quality care to our patients.

The Network Float BHT is a professional with a minimum of 2 years- experience of in-patient behavioral health experience.

Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.

BHT Float Pool: Two years previous experience in mental health or medical setting required.

Recovery Center BHT: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license accepted by the Network’s insurance carrier and maintain a good driving record.

Luke’s highly dedicated nursing staff serves the Behavioral Health needs throughout our community in our Adolescent, Adult, Older Adult and Extended Acute Care, Detox and Rehab in-patient units which provide structure in a secure setting.

St.

Luke’s interdisciplinary treatment team consists of experienced mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, case managers, mental health technicians and activity therapists.

In our 10 in-patient hospital based units, the multidisciplinary team approach assists and promotes our patients’ understanding of behavioral health issues so that they can begin the journey to recovery.

Our Adolescent unit works together for teens 12-18 years of age, creating an individualized treatment plan tailored to each teen’s needs, based on their diagnosis, background and triggers.

Adult Units treating those 18-54 years of age use a team approach to assess each individ93ual and provide a treatment plan including active discharge planning for services on an outpatient basis.

Older Adult Units treat adults 55 years of age and over with the same team approach in an intimate setting created to address the unique needs of older adults.

The Extended Acute Care treats adults who require further therapeutic treatment in an in-patient setting.

We strive to provide unique forms of treatment to assist individuals in developing necessary skills and capabilities to reduce barriers and achieve independence outside of a hospital.

This detox unit, featuring 16 private rooms in a calming setting, is the only type of medical detoxification unit with the ability to simultaneously manage SUD while treating new or underlying medical conditions.
