The Architecture & Facilities Engineering (A&FE) team is looking for a Staff Mechanical Engineer to support the development and sustainment of projects we support throughout the Disneyland Resort. You will act as the Staff Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative with technical expertise for mechanical engineering issues, design management of in-house and outside resources, code compliance, Disney design standards, documentation, specifications, and life cycle cost analysis for best value. This role also involves close collaboration with other engineering disciplines and multiple Disney project teams including FAM, WDI, Entertainment, and Operations.
You will report to the Senior Manager for MEP Engineering with DLR Architecture & Facilities Engineering.
What You Will Do
Act as Owner’s Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort. Project types will include shops, rides, hotels, shows, maintenance facilities, and nearly any built facility and area development found on our property.
Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules and budgets.
Develop concepts and Request for Proposals (RFP)s.
Attend, participate, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction.
Review drawings and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and statutes
Work with stakeholders to provide civil engineering resources to develop project scope including design, planning and code compliance for estimation and feasibility.
Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines.
Develop clear technical analyses and recommend frameworks to inform executive review and approval.
Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce Walt Disney Company design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details.
As the owner's representative, you'll review with a focus on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
Liaison with City officials and external agencies to ensure project scope and implementation is coordinated and compliant with external requirements.
Research Record Drawings in Disneyland Archives.
Perform field work to investigate and assess mechanical related infrastructure in the Resort.
Independently review new and existing design drawings and calculations.
Review shop drawing submittals and respond to vendor requests for information per Resort standards.
Coordinate design activities and monitor field installations and demolition work that comply with specifications and code requirements.
Perform reviews of existing infrastructure: propose upgrades and replacements, present findings and recommendations.
Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects, including signing and sealing construction documents when required.
Design with focus on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
Expedite the receipt of sample submittals required for final design approval.
Participate in weekly design coordination meetings and prioritize items to minimize schedule impacts.
Assist Project and Design Managers to resolve design compliance issues relating to Projects requirements. Validate that all Item Specifications are consistent with products installed before archiving manuals.
Support Executive Design Reviews by contributing technical content, analysis, and coordination as requested by Project or Design Management.
What We Look For
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, HVAC/DX/VRF/CHW applications, central plant development and operational guidance, hydraulics, hydronics, compressed air, overall kitchen designs and implementation.
Ability to support project partners in procurement and construction.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ACC, and other engineering-based software.
Working knowledge of both National and Local Standards and Codes.
Required Education and Licensure
BS Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university.

Field work and desk/office work. As necessary, must be able to travel to other work areas, be aware of safety requirements for those areas, and work within those constraints (e.g. access procedures and proper PPE). Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the project site.
CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Project schedule and is based on a 10-hour days, 5 days per week. Overtime may be required and Shifts may change through the duration of the job (i.e., 10 days on, 4 days off).

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. The Event Manager, Special Events plans, coordinates, and executes events at the Honda Center, a premier entertainment and sports venue, and other related properties, including ARTIC, The Grove of Anaheim, and OCVIBE venues under development. This position works closely with internal and external resources to ensure seamless development and execution of all event-related details. Responsibilities include oversight and delivery of all phases of an event: establishing a relationship with the client, event logistics, managing to budget, and ensuring successful execution and follow-up. Requires intensive attention to detail while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Duties include management of event contract details, including space requirements, technical requirements, food and beverage requirements, etc. The Event Manager is the main point of contact for Special Event client representatives and venue staff to advance and coordinate logistics for assigned events concerning budgets, entertainment, transportation, facilities, technology, equipment, operational requirements, department staffing levels, and all other event-related elements. Responsibilities
- Serve as venue liaison between contractors, organizers, and management regarding all facets of events
- Responsible for coordination and advancement efforts for assigned events, including front-of-house and back-of-house logistics
- Communicate all necessary venue information to Special Event client representative for advancement purposes and ensure all information related to events has been advanced to the appropriate venue departments and subcontractors for seamless execution
- Review event rental agreement language to determine how to proceed with coordination efforts for assigned events
- Ensure event rental agreements are signed, initial payments and insurance coverage received before event load in for assigned events
- Ensure information is correctly entered into the Momentus Elite event management program promptly
- Plan and monitor budgets, adjusting when necessary and ensuring adherence to budget
- Collaborate with clients and internal departments to maintain compliance related to the use of space and timing of access
- Manage development and distribution of necessary event-related information, orders, production notes, summaries, and fact sheets to all internal and external contacts, as well as third-party contractors and vendors
- Prepare event-specific information sheets for distribution to include all event-related information 30 days before assigned events
- Ensure event information and set-ups are accurate for all assigned events
- Depending on the rental agreement language, prepare total reimbursable venue labor and rental equipment costs for assigned events on time
- Analyze and complete a thorough wrap-up of all elements of each event, including submission of event debrief/after-action report to document areas of success and needed improvement
- Develop extensive knowledge of the arena, arena locations, and other venue locations, including ARTIC and OCVIBE properties to be developed, equipment, building labor costs, arena promoter costs, departmental event staffing breakdowns, and all necessary contacts related to events
- Develop working knowledge of food and beverage preparation, sequence of service, and basic high-end food and wine to assist with the provision of exceptional client and guest experience
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and communication with tenants, client representatives, internal departments, and subcontractors
- Assist special event sales team with client upsell opportunities and event enhancements by leveraging relationships with outside vendors and specialists
- Coordinate required documentation, including animal permits, pyrotechnic permits, sign language interpreters, subcontractor staffing schedules, and other applications with appropriate entities for assigned events
- Act as Event Manager on Duty and/or overall building manager for assigned events
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of building emergency procedures
- Participate in AED/CPR training, emergency response teams, and other groups as required
- Assist with advance on-site event meetings, tours, and related needs

The Director will develop strategic compliance frameworks, supervise licensing and classification activities, and collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate regulatory risks.
Export Compliance
- Oversee export compliance strategies aligned with U.S. and international regulations.
- Manage export licensing activities, including DSP-5 licenses, Commerce licenses, and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs).

Functional and Technical Competencies:
- Good understanding of clinical research science and processes, clinical trends, and global clinical trial regulations;
- Proven track record in supporting delivery of clinical projects within clinical/ surgical research setting, on time, within budget and in compliance to SOPs and regulations;
- Good presentation and technical writing skills;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
Leadership Competencies:
- Ability to lead small study teams to deliver critical milestones, as may be assigned.

LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Primary location for this position is Irvine.
- Ability to travel approximately 20% depending on the phase of the program.
EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS
- Frequent (several times per month) interaction with physicians and research staff at centers selected for involvement in clinical research as well as those being evaluated.
- May have regular interaction with third party vendors supporting clinical studies as applicable per program.
