The Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. Raytheon is seeking a mid-level career Senior Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department. In this role you will be responsible for detailed structural analysis to support all phases of programs including development and production. The analyses will cover a wide range of difficult problems, requiring solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. The analysis tasks will span the spectrum from classical hand calculations to detailed analyses requiring the use of finite element analysis software. You will be expected to define the scope and level of analysis required to meet the objectives and will be held accountable for completing the work within the agreed upon cost and schedule. What You Will Do

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
• Work with limited oversight on complex problems to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product as well as acting as a reviewer for others work products
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment)
• Act as a technical leader (help define and develop MA&T department technical processes and tools) and lead teams to meet program milestones

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
• Experience in structural analysis (i.e. PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software)

The Effectors Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test. Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.

Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.

• System Safety is responsible for ensuring our products are safe for the customer to use in any environment needed. System Safety is involved from the design phase through its full life cycle. Our input in the design phase is critical to ensuring end user safety.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal System Safety Engineer to join us on the Air and Space team in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do:

As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessment for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirement compliance.
• Partner with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
• Support all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from design, fabrication, integration and test, production to demilitarization and disposal phases
• Develop a System Safety Program and perform analyses primarily in accordance with Mil-Std-882
• Work with varying sized system safety programs and support multiple programs to include:
• Monitoring program technical execution, Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
• Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
• Briefing program safety at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
• Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
• Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program

• This position is posted as ONSITE and can be based at Raytheon's Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically Requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
• Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g. MIL-STD-882
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment
• Experience with interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide directions to support safety personnel
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
• 6 year's experience with a Master's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

What You Will Do:

As a Sr. Manufacturing Development Engineer you'll lead and coordinate projects and improvements across the extended value streams by providing technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production.

In this highly visible role, you'll leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream.

Typical Responsibilities will Include:

• Participation in manufacturing and test requirements development
• Design for manufacturing activities
• Manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibility

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
• Providing technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
• Providing technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers
• Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs

Other Responsibilities may Include:

• Serving as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
• Recommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met
• Designing, controlling, and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
• Identifying and resolving constraints across the program
• Participating in corrective action investigation

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing production.
• Experience with manufacturing process development or improvement
• Ability to work on programs requiring special program access
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements along with an innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
• Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
• Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines in a team environment
• Experience with technical writing and interpreting and improving technical drawings and communicating technical information to different audiences
• Experience with MRP systems and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments
• Prefer Bachelor's Degrees in the following areas: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• Current DoD security clearance (secret)
