Under general supervision performs stationary engineer work in the hospital power plant involving a variety of routine and fairly complex problems. To ensure all equipment and systems are properly operating for a maximum safety and comfortable environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Technical/Mechanical: Operates maintains and performs preventative maintenance on technical equipment. Operates boilers water chillers pumps air compressors and generators to provide steam electrical power heat and chilled water throughout hospital. a. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on water /steam distribution systems other boiler associated systems. b. Interprets technical information related to equipment operation and maintenance. c. Maintains constant watch over dials meters and gauges to assure proper operation and to detect malfunctioning equipment. d. Records data in appropriate logs and operates boiler room EMS systems. e. Runs test on boiler and cooling tower water and adjusts treatment dosage as needed. f. Maintains proper operation of pneumatic tube system. g. Makes quality improvement or cost containment recommendations and sees through approval and implementation stages.
* Customer Service: Consistently displays professionalism in dealings with customers staff and physicians. Promptly answers customer and staff requests a. Approaches greets and offers assistance and direction to patients family members physicians and others who may need help in finding their way. b. Takes initiative to solve problems and recommends improvements of hospital procedures and intra or interdepartmental processes.
* Development: Participates with supervisors in identifying learning needs. When learning needs are identified participates in training and development activities. a. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. b. Completes all mandatory requirements within allotted timeframe for completion.
* Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in departmental projects. a. Participates in interdepartmental activities when asked. b. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff supervisors and managers both inside and outside the unit. Minimal Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or GED required and
* Equivalent work experience in lieu of education may be considered.
Experience
* 1-2 years 2-3 years of experience as first class engineer required
* Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications
* Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer License required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
* Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers

Are you a Hematologist/Oncologist seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity near ROCKVILLE MD? We have an exciting position available starting from 08/05/2024 for a duration of 13 months. Here are the details:
* Specialty: Medical Oncology (consulting service, not teaching)
* Start Date: As soon as possible, while looking for permanent placement
* Contract Length: Ongoing, ideally a 10-12 month contract. Candidates with less than 6 months will not be considered.
* Shift Details: The clinic operates from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. The Infusion Center hours are also from 8 AM to 5 PM or 5:30 PM. You must attend a Tumor Board meeting every Tuesday from 8 AM to 9 AM (virtual meeting) to discuss patients and treatment recommendations.
* Schedule: You'll rotate between clinic and hospital duties, with an average of 2-5 consults per day while on call.
Call Schedule
* Call Rotation: 1:4 or 1:5 weeks. While on call, you'll have clinic from 8 AM to 12 PM, followed by attending to patients admitted to the hospital from 12:30 PM to 5 PM. Calls are mainly phone consultations, with rare instances requiring in-person attendance.
Work Details
* Support Staff: You'll work alongside 5 experienced Medical Oncologists (including 1 retiring on June 30), with a call rotation of 1:4 or 1:5 weeks. The clinic is supported by 3 experienced NPs, nurse navigators, and Medical Assistants.
* Patients per day: The average outpatient clinic volume is 15 patients per day, with a range of 8 to 22 patients. Additionally, you'll handle 2-5 consults per day while on call, dealing with complicated cases.
* Patient Population/Age: All adults aged 18 and above (pediatric program available separately)
* EMR: Cerner
* Practice Setting: Community Hospital, primarily outpatient clinic with occasional hospital check-ins for admitted patients.

- Provide learning and development opportunities and mentoring to providers and staff to enhance their clinical acumen, leadership skills and overall professional growth.
- Evaluate the performance of physicians and PA / NPs in compliance with Vituity policies and guidelines.
- Monitor physician competencies with progressive improvement using appropriate metrics. Counsel, suspend, or remove staff from the schedule as necessary in compliance with Vituity polices / guidelines.
- Actively participate in contract negotiations in conjunction with the Regional Director.
- Develop, foster, and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
- Ensure practice is appropriately represented and demonstrates their value through leadership roles (as applicable) and/or participation with hospital management, medical staff leadership, Medical Executive, Medical Staff and other hospital committees, and within the local community.
Required Experience and Competencies
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required.
- Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital’s medical staff where services are being provided required.
