Overview

Kjar, McKenna & Stockalper, LLP is actively seeking experienced Associate Attorneys with mid to senior-level experience in Public Entity Defense. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in defending cases related to excessive force and constitutional violations, especially those with prior experience in law enforcement or the military.

As an Associate Attorney at Kjar, McKenna & Stockalper, LLP, you will have the opportunity to handle complex cases, including trial opportunities, while contributing to a dynamic legal team.

We offer a competitive salary and benefit package, performance bonuses and annual reviews. At this time, we are offering all new attorneys a $5,000 signing bonus to start. We offer flexible office hours with no cap on vacation days. Our attorneys have a flexible schedule that allows for some remote work.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have at least 3-5+ years’ experience in some form of insurance defense and an ability to manage their own caseload.
• Proven experience handling cases involving excessive force and constitutional violations is a plus
• Litigation and trial experience
• Law enforcement or military background is highly desirable
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research, handle discovery and analyze medical and employment records.
• Frequently handle court appearances, depositions and meetings.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
