Job DescriptionThe June Program is a 3-week summer program that serves students in grades K-6 at the Campus School of Smith College. The program runs from June 1 - 18, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. This fun and exciting experience offers students the opportunity to participate in various activities on the Smith College Campus. Students in grades K-2 will utilize the Campus School facilities for activities including arts and crafts, outdoor games, kung-fu, water games, drama, sports, story-telling and more! Students in grades 3-6 will use Smith College athletic facilities and other buildings to participate in activities including: art, sports & games (basketball, badminton, dodgeball, pickleball, soccer), cooking, theater, science, nature exploration and more!

Job Description - Group Leader
Manage and supervise groups of students in grades K-6. Help lead students and supervise, provide support when needed, maintain and report daily attendance, arrival and dismissal, and direct support staff. Uphold and support program protocol, policies and procedures. Report to the program coordinator. Prior experience working with children in active environments including camps or schools preferred.
Hourly Rate Range: $19 - $23 per hour depending on experience
Hours per week: 35 hrs per week (7 hrs per day)

Teaching responsibilities for this position may include introductory and advanced video production courses, screenwriting, and other production courses in the candidate's field of specialization.
We seek candidates with an active creative practice in film/video, college-level teaching experience, and a strong command of video production equipment and software. The successful candidate will offer three courses per year and will oversee the department's video production equipment inventory and facilities, with student worker support (VAPs at Smith normally teach five courses per year; this position provides two course releases as compensation for equipment, facilities, and student worker management). Candidates should have a strong foundation in either documentary or narrative production, and candidates with experience in equipment and facility management are especially encouraged to apply. MFA in Media Production or a relevant field, is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Film and Media Studies are encouraged to apply.
In addition to a competitive benefits package, starting pay range for this position is typically between $74,200-$76,200. Actual compensation will vary based on individual qualifications.

Job Description - Specialty Instructor
Lead and instruct students in a specialty area; plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate programming for students; manage equipment, maintain spaces, guide support staff and support students as they learn within a specialized area.
