The Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. Raytheon is seeking a mid-level career Senior Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department.  In this role you will be responsible for detailed structural analysis to support all phases of programs including development and production. The analyses will cover a wide range of difficult problems, requiring solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. The analysis tasks will span the spectrum from classical hand calculations to detailed analyses requiring the use of finite element analysis software. You will be expected to define the scope and level of analysis required to meet the objectives and will be held accountable for completing the work within the agreed upon cost and schedule. You will be expected to present your work for peer reviews and to be a peer reviewer for other engineers’ work. The customers of this position will include internal personnel and programs as well as external Government(s) personnel and programs.

What You Will Do

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs

• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements

• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments

• Work with limited oversight on complex problems to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints

• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product as well as acting as a reviewer for others work products

• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers

• Generate detailed, archival technical reports

• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment)

• Act as a technical leader (help define and develop MA&T department technical processes and tools) and lead teams to meet program milestones

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Structural Engineer job is in Tucson, AZ and the position is onsite.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

• Experience in structural analysis (i.e. PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software)

Qualifications We Prefer

• Working knowledge of mechanical principles to solve classical structural engineering problems both inside and outside of software tools

• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently

• 8+ years of professional experience in the structural analysis of complex systems that require collaboration of multiple engineering disciplines (such as a weapon system)

• Experience in structural testing: planning, organization, execution, data reduction and correlation

• Experience with dynamic shock and vibration analysis

• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent

The Effectors PG&C Center is currently hiring for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer position in Tucson, AZ to support execution of the portfolio of current and upcoming missile programs. As a Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping with the evaluation, design, implementation, and integration of embedded software algorithms. You will collaborate with a team of engineers in an integrated product team that will be responsible for tactical embedded software, firmware, and integrated flight software 6 Degrees-of-Freedom simulations to achieve overall system performance requirements. What You Will Do

• Development, integration, and testing of embedded tactical missile flight code

• Definition and execution of system level performance studies and analyses to inform the development and integration of new capabilities, refinement of existing capability, or to address obsolescence

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Team is searching for an Advanced Guidance Section/Avionics Tech Lead with experience as Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). The role of the Electrical Subsystems Lead is to manage a cross-functional and cross-discipline team of engineers through product development. The Electrical Subsystem Lead provides both technical guidance and supervision in meeting project commitment. They also manage suppliers and may lead efforts in proposal development. 

• Work environment is primarily in an office, but may include labs, field work, or a combination.

• Assignments may include guiding a team through several phases of hardware systems lifecycle such as designs and analysis; architecting new electronic systems; developing and documenting subsystem requirements and test plans; peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert; presentations to peers, management, and government customers; and root-cause failure investigations.

Qualifications You Must Have

Qualifications We Prefer

• Missile guidance electronics subsystems typically contain antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic so the ideal candidate will have a background in designing and troubleshooting of one or more of these components. Ideal candidates will also have experience in project leadership, systems engineering and architecture and have a desire to grow into a higher level.

• Experience working with missiles or similar systems.

• Experience in Earn Value Management System (EMVS) and Cost Account Management (CAM)

• Knowledge of mixed signal electronics.

Job Summary:

The Bike Shop in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Fabrication Lead Tech who will work in the mechanical fabrication shop, executing a variety of mechanical fabrication efforts at an exceptional quality level, while collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced, integrated team environment. The position interacts daily with fellow support technicians and engineers, to successfully meet the prototype and test manufacturing needs of our internal and external engineering customers.
 
 
Responsibilities to Anticipate:  

• Quick-turn machining of critical prototype, aerospace parts and test assemblies from metal and non-metal materials utilizing precision manual mills and lathes

• Use of general machine shop tools and support equipment including the use of typical dimensional measuring tools

• Work with basic sketches and, underdeveloped drawing packages as well as model renderings

• Responsible for all aspects of fabrication including part/machine setup, safe equipment operation, part inspection, managing their workload, supporting customers’ schedules, delegating, and coordinating work when required

• Work in a multi-program-controlled area.

• Report to the Mechanical Prototyping and Fabrication Section Lead within the Engineering Prototyping and Fabrication department (the Bike Shop)

  Qualifications You Must Have:

• A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience independently operating manual mills and lathes.

• Eight (8) or more years of interpreting mechanical blueprints / technical drawings with the ability to machine one-of-a-kind quality, in-tolerance parts per drawing specifications.

• Ability to inspect machined parts using standard precision measuring instruments to ensure tolerances are met.

• A strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
