Position Highlights: Start Date: January 6, 2025 Duration: Ongoing, with the potential for a long-term engagement.

Schedule: Scheduled clinical hours only no call responsibilities.

Practice Setting: Inpatient psychiatric unit with assigned patient rounding.

Patients Per Shift: 8-12 patients per day.

Bed Capacity: 33 beds in the psychiatric department.

Requirements: Board Certification: Active board certification in psychiatry is required.

Licensure: Must hold an active North Carolina medical license.

Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.

Credentialing: Streamlined credentialing process with an estimated timeframe of 30 days.

Practice Details: Provide care to patients with various psychiatric conditions, including: Anxiety and affective disorders Psychotic and personality disorders Organic disorders and more Involvement in treatment techniques such as pharmacotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy.

No outpatient responsibilities.

Support and Facility Features: Adequate support staff, including registered nurses, medical assistants, and advanced practice providers.

• Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations.

• Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project.

The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What will you do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
