Associate of Arts/Science or a Bachelor’s degree preferred.   Two years minimum pediatric echocardiography work experience in performing M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Doppler, and color Doppler required.  Fetal Echo and research experience preferred.  Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease, pre and post-operatively, required.  Echocardiography experience in the setting of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab preferred.  This position requires travel to outreach locations working with the Pediatric Cardiologist and support team.  This role requires the incumbent to take call for the Pediatric Echo Lab.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, PE), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) certification in Pediatrics by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required; Fetal Echocardiography (FE) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree In Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline required.  Experience:  At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory required.  Certification:  Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant catagorical certification required.  NOTE:  This is a Career Ladder Position.  Internal candidates are required to submit and meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements.  External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 90 days in position.
