What you will do


We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or II) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and other specimen collection procedures with accuracy and professionalism. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for blood draws, properly labeling and handling specimens, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The CPT will also be expected to follow all infection control and safety guidelines, maintain accurate records, and comply with California Department of Public Health (CA DPH) regulations. Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to quality care, and maintaining current certification and training are essential.


CPT Summary of Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens, ensuring proper labeling and handling for integrity.
  • Interact professionally and compassionately with patients, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
  • Follow protocols to ensure accuracy, reliability, and high standards in specimen collection.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter data into the laboratory information system (LIS).
  • Adhere to strict infection control practices during specimen collection.
  • Clean and maintain phlebotomy equipment, reporting issues promptly.
  • Stay updated on phlebotomy techniques and regulations, participating in ongoing education.
