Women who may have the ability to produce eggs but are unable to use their uterus or do not have a uterus, may consider a surrogate. A donated egg may also be used with the surrogate in the event a woman cannot produce her own eggs or her uterus is not intact or insufficient to carry a pregnancy. In either case, the husband's sperm, if viable, may be used.

Using an egg donor unrelated to the surrogate carrier eliminates any biological tie. The egg of the surrogate is never used as part of the assisted reproduction process, so that a surrogate is never in the position of delivering her own biological child.

The basic requirements of a woman to serve as a surrogate are:

• Emotionally stable
• Responsible
• In good physical health
• Non-smoker
• Has had at least one successful pregnancy
• Is capable of carrying a child to full term

A woman is not required to fall within a particular age range to serve as a surrogate, but most intended parents prefer a surrogate under the age of 40. For more information on surrogacy please see the documents on the left side of this page.

In Texas, there is a judicial process for validating the Gestational Contract (the contract between the intended parents and the surrogate). Included within the various requirements for having a Gestational Contract validated by a Texas court is that the intended parents must be married and the surrogate must have previously carried a child to term. Additionally, there are residency requirements that apply to either the surrogate or the intended parents, but not both.

Compensation for a surrogate services generally starts in the range of $35,000 - $40,000, for base compensation with over all fees up to 70k, in many cases. The amount of compensation is dependent upon a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, whether the surrogate carries twins, what procedures a surrogate is required to undergo and whether the delivery is vaginally or by cesarean section.

Essential Job Functions:

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes while maintaining compliance to design specifications.

Programming of equipment, creation of CNC code, and tool path simulation.

Primary contact for design engineering or program management on manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

5-10 years manufacturing engineering experience.

Minimum 5 years CAD and CAM software experience required. Mastercam preferred.

AutoCAD Inventor 3D modelling or similar software required.

Vericut experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret complex 2D blueprints and 3D models required.

Working knowledge of GD&T required.

Experience with tooling selection and fixture design required.

Knowledge of both manual and CNC machining equipment, specifically multi-axis (5+) programming experience.

Hands on troubleshooting & problem solving including statistical analysis.

Ability to implement change and train employees in a production floor environment.

Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft products.

Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.

Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.

Responsibilities:

Efficiency

Responsible for maintaining required cycle times per IQMs and documenting any deficiencies with written explanations to the Production Manager.

Quality

Ensure adherence to QC standards, support audits, follow production procedures, minimize scrap, maximize efficiency, and confirm all production is properly scanned and transferred to the warehouse each shift.

Labor

Manage staffing and scheduling needs, supervise employees to ensure compliance with procedures, track attendance and performance issues, and conduct evaluations when requested to meet production demands.

Molds, Change Overs or Repairs

Coordinate mold changeovers with minimal downtime, track scrap and downtime in IQMs, perform mold cleaning and preventative maintenance, communicate mold issues or component needs, and maintain proper mold storage and status updates.

Safety

Ensure proper use of required PPE, and identify, correct, or report unsafe equipment or conditions within the facility.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), at least 3 years of injection molding experience, and preferably prior supervisory experience. If you don't have supervisory experience, a maintenance background with plastic injection molding is preferred.

Position Summary

The Perioperative Educator designs, implements, and evaluates evidence-based education programs for surgical services staff across the continuum of care. This role ensures clinical personnel maintain required competencies for caring for orthopaedic and plastic surgery patients. The Educator demonstrates strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and serves as a resource to physicians, leaders, and staff.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities

Develops, delivers, and evaluates education programs aligned with CCOC’s mission and vision, including onboarding, orientation, curriculum and competency development while serving as a clinical resource for surgical services departments.

Supports the creation and coordination of annual competency training for all levels of staff.

Maintains complete and accurate documentation of education activities in the Learning Management System (LMS). Including all aspects of the orientation process. Coordinates and participates in new product/process in-services for Surgical Services and, when appropriate, across the organization.

Facilitates and assists with student clinical rotations, internships, and shadowing experiences. Assists in developing and updating Surgical Services policies and procedures, as appropriate. Monitors orientation, education, and competency programs to ensure compliance with evolving national accreditation standards and bodies.

Empower staff through mentorship, delivering targeted knowledge and skill-based remediation as necessary. Collaborative participation in interdisciplinary committees within the organization. Serves as a subject matter expert regarding AORN guidelines.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing Education or another healthcare-related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience within OR/Surgical Services required. Previous experience in staff education or professional development preferred; proven in depth knowledge and experience of the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions to improve organizational learning and performance is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated teaching skills, leadership, and critical thinking skills required. Must possess knowledge of personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. BLS within one month of hire. ACLS and PALS optional. CNOR certification is highly desirable (or willingness to become certified).
