This job provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support services to both in-patients and outpatients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. The Opportunity
We are hiring a Point of Care Solutions Specialist in our Abbott Point of Care (APOC) Division selling to hospitals in S. LA including New Orleans.
The Point of Care Solution Specialist works independently within an assigned territory leading commercial execution to increase market share and drive sustainable growth. Working in a collaborative environment, the Sales Specialist will partner with internal support team members to identify opportunities and create strategies that move sales cycles forward. The position reports to the District Manager and requires up to 50% travel to provide customer-focused service and effectively support business goals.
What you will work on
- Achieve sales targets through efficient and effective sales cycle and territory management.
- Maintain sales base while closing new business in both new and existing accounts.
- Efficiently navigate complex sales environments with multiple stakeholders and dynamic decision-making criteria, while also building relationships.
- Develop and execute sales strategies, while anticipating potential risks and proactively developing and implementing mitigation plans.
- Utilize available resources effectively.

Acts as a patient advocate and patient educator while promoting optimum patient independence, self-care, and rehabilitation. Acts as an integral member of the mechanical circulatory support/transplant team, assisting the transplant physicians by independently monitoring certain patients, managing outpatient clinics and periodically reviewing all patients with the physicians. Required – High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an approved Paramedic Program
Work Experience
Preferred – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or Hospital Experience
Required – Paramedic License in the State of Practice
Certified with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a Paramedic
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills.
Ability to identify medical emergencies and assist with management.
Provides direct patient care, within the scope of their license, with supervision from the physician. This may include the following: medical treatment of wounds at the basic/intermediate/advanced level, would care, ability to administer medications by pre-established protocol which includes vasoactive medications, draw bloodwork, place splints/boots/etc., Foley insertion, use of glucometer, I-STAT, Kurin, vital signs (rectal temps/immunocompromised), and IV fluid administration.
