Operations Manager

The Operations Manager provides full leadership and accountability for all plant operations, including safety, production, quality, maintenance, engineering, environmental compliance, and cost performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an attitude of extreme ownership over all plant operations, safety and performance.
• Develop, establish, and administer short- and long-term manufacturing and operating plans to meet established goals and objectives.
• Participate with the development and administration of plans for Maintenance, Plant Engineering and Environmental.
• Coordinate and expedite manufacturing operations including such matters as production scheduling, engineering, procurement, production operations, tooling and maintenance.
• Employ proper motivating techniques and delegate appropriate authority to department managers to accomplish goals and objectives.
• Maintain conformance with budget, and proper utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
• Counsel, coach and develop supervisors and nonexempt associates.
• Ensure that all departments follow established guidelines for safety, production, quality, and environmental quality.
• Optimize production schedules and meet quality and cost standards.
• Oversee and direct the preparation of operating budgets for plant departments.
• Maintain an adequate workforce to fulfill production requirements.
• Participate in the interview process for management positions as necessary.
• Coach associates to eliminate hazardous conditions and work practices.
• Maintain awareness of improved operational methods, production processes, or equipment which improve quality and productivity and reduce waste.
• Oversee installation or modification of equipment via Plant Engineering and Maintenance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in business administration or engineering or equivalent preferred
• 5-10 years of Operations Leadership experience
• Previous metals manufacturing industry experience
• Excellent root cause/corrective action and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel

JOB SUMMARY

A Quality Technician II ensures the products meet the required quality standards and specifications. You train Quality Technician Is in our processes and how to use proper inspection techniques. You begin to do complex inspections and assemblies. The role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing process and delivering high-quality components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand inspection requirements.
• Performs visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Checks parts for conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Identifies and documents any non-conformities or deviations and discusses them with a Quality Technician III.
• Maintains detailed records of inspection results, including measurements, observations, and any deviations from quality standards.
• Assembles components when required.
• Deburrs any sharp edges that call for an edge break.
• Cleans parts to customer-supplied requirements.
• Fills out or checks inspection reports to ensure proper documentation of all quality-related data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• 2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a similar role.
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Apprenticeship or vocational training.
