- Experience: 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience required (cardiac stepdown/telemetry strongly preferred)/n
- Travel Experience: At least one completed prior travel assignment required (first-time travelers not accepted)/n
- Setting: Large hospital experience required/n
- Trauma: Level I trauma experience required/n
- License: Active RN license (state or compact/NLC-compliant)/n
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required/n
- Clinical Skills: Telemetry monitoring, IV starts, strong cardiac/respiratory assessment, escalation and rapid response activation/n
- Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)/n
- Local Radius: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility/n
/n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n
/n
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for cardiac stepdown/telemetry patients requiring continuous monitoring and frequent reassessment./n
- Interpret telemetry rhythms, identify early signs of deterioration, and escalate appropriately using rapid response resources./n
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies per protocol; monitor patient response and communicate changes promptly to the care team./n
- Support patient flow and safe care delivery when the unit receives Med-Surg overflow, maintaining prioritization and strong clinical judgment./n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to coordinate diagnostics, respiratory support, mobility, and discharge planning./n
- Document accurately and efficiently in the EMR (Cerner preferred) and contribute to quality, compliance, and patient safety initiatives./n
- Float to like units as needed to support safe staffing and continuity of care./n
