Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care during nocturnal shifts, including labor management, deliveries, postpartum care, and triage.
Manage gynecological consults for acute cases arising overnight, ensuring timely assessment and intervention.
Conduct urgent assessments and implement appropriate interventions for obstetric and gynecologic emergencies.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including 8 OB/GYN physicians and 4 advanced practice providers (APPs), fostering an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Offer backup support for complex cases with multispecialty professionals on-site.
Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality by participating in hospital safety protocols and quality initiatives.
Communicate clearly and efficiently with day teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions through thorough handoffs.
Document all patient interactions, procedures, and consults accurately within a fully integrated Epic EMR system.
Engage in hospital committees and process improvement projects to enhance inpatient obstetric care.
Support a flexible schedule of 6-12 nocturnist shifts per month, promoting a sustainable work-life balance.
Contribute actively to a culture of high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with UCHealth s mission to improve lives.
Lead emergency obstetric responses, including rapid management of maternal or fetal complications.
Mentor and support residents or APPs during shifts when applicable.
