POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration and consultation with physicians and other health care professionals, the nurse practitioner provides evidence-based, quality, compassionate and holistic care to in-patients and their families.
EDUCATION
A Registered Professional Nurse who is prepared for advanced nursing practice by virtue of knowledge and skills obtained through an accredited post basic or advanced educational program of study acceptable to the Board of Nurse Examiners. A Master's degree in nursing is preferred. Must be a participating Medicare provider or eligible to obtain a Medicare provider number. Three years of nursing experience is required and two years of advanced practice is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas and credentialed by the State to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental staff bylaws. Prescriptive authority is required. A valid DEA number must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Certification by a national nursing body is required.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
At the front door of University Health, this role serves to screen patients needing placement in acute or observation beds for the purposes of correct status determinations, and the coordination of appropriate diversions to home or other level of care more appropriate for the services needed to be rendered. This position requires assertive clinical acumen and communication skills for serving in the liaison roles with medical staff, nursing, and patients and families.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Texas, BSN preferred. National certification (e.g. CCRN, RNC, CEN, CNOR, OCN, ANCC, CAN, CPAN, CFRN, etc.) in related field is preferred. Three years recent, full-time hospital experience preferred. Work experience in case management, utilization review or hospital quality assurance experience is preferred. Must complete a Clinical Documentation Improvement Course within specified time of hire date.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. National certification in related field is preferred. Case Manager Certification (CCM or ANCC) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
The Specialist will report to a manager in the Talent Management team. Projects can include lesson plans, eLearning courses, program content, vendor course reviews, facilitator guides, and job aids. Working in close partnership with other members of the Talent Management Team, the Specialist is responsible for curating and producing content to achieve measurable business results. Develops and implements talent development and learning strategies that are aligned with the organization’s objectives and assigned client groups. Partners closely with assigned client groups and with Talent Management team members on a variety of training topics. Adheres to defined strategy and plan, including the creation and delivery of key deliverables, reports, communications, learning materials, and other support resources. Develops materials, resources, and assessments for training designs within existing standards, while bringing recommendations for continuous improvement of content. Adheres to course standardization, both with new courses and when reviewing existing courses for re-assignment. Regularly evaluates programs and training curriculums for continuous improvement. Creates relationships and forms partnerships within the team, and with assigned client groups to deliver value-added content development that reflects business objectives and culture of the organization. Works closely with team and with assigned client groups to keep projects on task and on schedule, according to defined strategy and plan, including the creation and delivery of key deliverables, reports, communications, learning materials, and other support resources. Completes basic visual design work using the Adobe Suite, SnagIt, and others as the business may require.
