The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and Queens is seeking a full time Pediatric Physiatrist. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated physician interested in working with an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population in a dynamic and supportive academic setting. The hospital are both easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
The ideal candidate will join our pediatric faculty and provide services to our ambulatory patients as well as provide inpatient consults to our neonates at both hospitals. The position will sit operationally within both Pediatric departments but be appointed in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, which is a joint department across both hospitals.
The selected candidate will have the following clinical responsibilities:
Two to three days per week of ambulatory sessions at Elmhurst Hospital Center
Inpatient consults in the Level 3 NICU at Elmhurst
One to two days per week of ambulatory sessions at Queens Hospital Center
Inpatient consults in the Level 3 NICU at Queens
Teaching of residents and medical students
We offer faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. The candidate should be a BE/BC, fellowship trained Pediatric Physiatrist. Candidates must possess a valid New York State license and active DEA registration. The salary for this position ranges from $217,000 to $227,000 plus benefits and faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year.

The Department of Emergency Medicine seeks an Assistant/Associate Program Director.
The Mount Sinai Hospital-Elmhurst Residency in Emergency Medicine is excited to announce that we are recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Program Director to join our strong, close-knit leadership team of the PD and 6 APDs. We lead a 4-year program with 20 residents per class. Our program offers a well-balanced mix of high-acuity clinical sites and strong career development.
Our large team structure and program, as well as our well-resourced and supportive department, has allowed our APDs to specialize and develop unusual depth of expertise in the areas of medical education to which they are most drawn. There is plenty of room for growth, creativity and leadership development.

Our residency splits time evenly between 2 clinical sites: The Mount Sinai Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital Center. The Mount Sinai Hospital an internationally recognized quaternary care facility with over 100K patient visits per year of very high acuity. The ED patient population draws from the upper east side of Manhattan, Harlem and Spanish Harlem. The emergency department is, as of this writing, days away from completing a 5-year, $80 million renovation. We have already opened a new separate 28-bed observation unit and Pediatric Emergency Department. The latter is housed within the Department of Emergency Medicine. We are fortunate that Dr. Brendan Carr, an emergency physician and our immediate past Chair, leads the entire Mount Sinai Health System.
Elmhurst Hospital Center is a large, public level 1 trauma center in Jackson Heights, Queens that is fully staffed by Sinai faculty (100K+ visits/year). The Sinai-Elmhurst partnership has existed since the 1960's and is central to the residency identity. The Administrative Medical Director provides clinical and administrative leadership for a busy primary care outpatient clinic. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, optimizing clinical operations, managing staff, and contributing to the strategic growth and success of the practice within the Mount Sinai Health System. The Medical Director serves as a key liaison between clinical staff, administration, and patients, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Quality Improvement:
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to all medical staff (physicians, advanced practice providers).

Salary Range: $500,000 - $550-000 Per Year

As Chief, you will oversee the educational, clinical, administrative, and quality assurance aspects of the Division, ensuring professional medical services are provided in all areas, including inpatient, emergency department, ambulatory sites, and other affiliate locations. You will have direct patient contact, oversee compliance, set direction, and inspire a clinically unified department oriented to excellence. You will also lead the development of strategic relationships for the hospital, participate in student/resident/staff education, maintain a sound budget, and communicate with passion, purpose, and motivation that leverages individual strengths and brings team goals into focus.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Graduated from an accredited School of Medicine and completed an OB/GYN Residency and MFM fellowship
- Demonstrated experience that includes at least 5 years of clinical practice in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- Board Certification in OB/GYN and MFM, along with solid clinical and academic experience
- An active New York State license and DEA
- A recognizable commitment to excellence in all aspects of care delivery and medical leadership
- Proven ability to establish and execute a vision

This multi-specialty practice is located at 1441 South Avenue in Staten Island, NY. Staten Island is the southernmost of New York City's 5 boroughs. It is connected to Lower Manhattan via the Staten Island Ferry, which runs across New York Harbor. With easy access to Brooklyn and Central New Jersey, Staten Island is a residential community, with many attractions for families, such as the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Zoo, Botanical Garden, and the Staten Island Children’s Museum. The large patient community typically stays on Staten Island for their routine care. Mount Sinai Doctors Staten Island offers comprehensive care where patients can see a variety of specialties. - Work with a large primary care referral base and almost every specialty including cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pain management, allergy, urology, radiology, and hematology/oncology
- Serve a diverse population and live in a neighborhood with excellent school districts
- Support Staff: Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, PA’s, urodynamics, full service on site imaging center with brand new Siemens MRI and PET CT, ultrasound, on site lab

- No teaching, research, or administrative responsibilities required
