Role Overview


The EHS Manager leads all Environmental, Health, and Safety activities for a large, complex construction project. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and project-specific EHS standards. Serving as the primary on-site safety leader, the EHS Manager oversees all EHS personnel and works closely with project leadership, contractors, and trade partners to maintain a safe and compliant jobsite.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the full-time, on-site EHS Manager beginning prior to project mobilization and continuing through project completion
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the project’s Environmental, Health, and Safety program
  • Direct and coordinate the efforts of all contractor and trade partner EHS professionals assigned to the project
  • Perform routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure timely corrective actions
  • Provide hands-on coaching, guidance, and technical expertise to project leadership and field teams
  • Ensure all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are properly reported, investigated, and resolved
  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to support workforce awareness and compliance
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, reports, and regulatory compliance records
  • Collaborate with client EHS representatives and participate in safety meetings, reviews, and planning activities
  • Promote workforce engagement and reinforce a strong safety culture across all project teams


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 8 years of construction safety experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity
  • Proven experience managing EHS programs on large, complex construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work full-time on-site and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Professional safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, or OHST preferred
