Physician - Dermatologist

The University of Kansas Health System, Division of Dermatology, is seeking a full-time Dermatologist to join our growing team. About the Position

• Comprehensive Clinical Practice: Engage in a broad scope of dermatology, from high-volume general (“bread and butter”) dermatology to the management of medically complex cases.

• Robust Clinical Support: Physicians are supported by a dedicated care team that includes a scribe, registered nurse, and medical assistant, with an excellent staffing ratio of 2.5 FTE support staff per 1.0 FTE physician.

AdventHealth is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Endovascular Neurosurgeon to join our expanding Neurosciences program. Practice Setting

• Clinic staffing includes a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA), Registered Nurse (RN), and APP to support your practice and ensure efficient patient care.
• The AdventHealth Shawnee Mission hospital is supported by four Neurosurgeons and six specialized Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring ample collaborative opportunities and a well-rounded team environment.
• Inpatient Neuro-Hospitalist coverage is available onsite 24/7, providing continuous care and expertise for our patients.

Schedule:

• Allocated block time for surgical procedures and clinic hours, allowing for a balanced and structured workflow.
• Call expectations are 1 in 2 for Endovascular Stroke Intervention and 1 in 4 for Neurosurgery, with additional compensation for extra call duties.

Breast Medical Oncologist

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Kansas City

Located in suburban Kansas City, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is searching for a dynamic, energetic, and team-oriented fellowship-trained oncologist with a specialized focus in breast cancer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge, patient centered care to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, while also contributing to general oncology services. We are looking to grow our subspecialty oncology programs in breast, thoracic, GI and GU. Highly qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.

We have six oncologists in our group today and we are continuing to expand, both in specialization and in our new $70 million Cancer Institute located on the Shawnee Mission campus. Our physician team continues to grow around Gyn Oncology, Breast Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Neuro Oncology, and other surgical oncology specialties. Rotation of call would be shared with the other physicians in the practice, including weekends. New physician would have access to research, clinical trials, tumor boards and a multidisciplinary care team consisting of nurse navigators, dietician, social workers, oncology rehab, palliative medicine, and patient financial navigators.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The  Facility Chief Medical Officer (CMO) ensures high quality, patient-centered care by leading clinical and quality initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the hospital. The CMO provides senior-level leadership to the infection control, risk management, safety, and medical staff credentialing functions, ensuring the collaboration and coordination of all stakeholders in these processes. • Partners with medical staffs and hospital management teams, facilitating teamwork and shared goals. Represents medical staff viewpoints to management and relays management viewpoints to medical staff by establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between HCA leadership and community and/or employed physicians. 

• Provides clinical support and consultation regarding cost-effective clinical resource management in the facilities by sharing reports and recommendations regarding how to reduce the variable cost per case while maintaining and enhancing clinical effectiveness. 

• Creates a data-driven environment of quality and cost improvement and develops systems to review utilization of resources and objectively measure outcomes of care in the inpatient and outpatient settings. 

• Serves as a direct liaison between HCA-affiliated physicians and facility/corporate clinical services functions. 

• Establishes and maintains an ongoing program to orient and develop management expertise for Hospital Chiefs of Staff, Medical Executive Committees, and other medical staff leaders by providing oversight and leadership for all medical education programs. 

• Leads educational sessions and provides ongoing in-service programs to facility medical staff regarding clinical resource management, appropriate documents standards, utilization and quality issues, and quality improvement activities, in collaboration with the Chief of Staff or other clinical leadership in the facility. 

• Assembles regional physician advisory panels to provide ongoing feedback to HCA senior management and serves as a liaison between committees and facility/corporate leadership, as well as to affiliated physicians.
