Pediatric Emergency Medicine (Locum Tenens)
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Setting: Inpatient
Coverage Through: July 2026
Schedule: Variable evenings and nights (minimum 4-night stretches)
Shift Details: 1 PM 3 AM or 8 PM 6 AM (10-hour shifts; overtime after 10th hour)
Call Coverage: None all onsite during 10-hour shifts
Position Overview
Join a collaborative Pediatric Emergency Medicine team providing evening and overnight coverage in a busy inpatient pediatric emergency department.
Responsibilities
• Oversight of PEDS ER Medicine PAs/NPs during shift
• Perform procedures including:
Reductions
Laceration repairs
Intubations
I&D
Splinting
Ultrasound/FAST exams
NG tube placement
Lumbar punctures
Chest tube placement
Volume & Staffing
• Average 150 patients within the PEDS ER
• Typical staffing: 9 total providers (4 physicians, 5 NPs/PAs)
• Support staff includes X-ray, RT, social work, and pharmacy on-site
Requirements
• Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
• Active FL medical license
• Current BLS and PALS (AHA)
• NICA membership/receipts required
• NPDB within 3 months
• Case logs covering 24 inpatient records from the past 12 months (must be primary source, not personal logs; include patient age if possible)
• Updated CV required for name clearance

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
