Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.

Job Summary:

Manufacturing Engineers learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. Primary responsibilities include developing the comprehensive manufacturing process for 3D metal parts for various radar, integrated sensor, and effector programs. The candidate will create, test, and upgrade Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs, develop and document fixturing and setups for CMM inspection, and create inspection plans. They will also assess process failures, disposition non-conforming hardware, and create and execute robust Root Cause/Corrective Action plans to permanently solve problems. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines. What You Will Do

• Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation including CMM programming, inspection planning, finishing requirements, and assembly instructions
• Support process improvements using data analysis, application of best practices, engaging with production personnel, and implementing innovative solutions to improve process capability and decrease cost
• Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
• Self-manage workload to support existing production, perform non-recurring engineering work for new products, and drive improvement projects to completion.
• Communicate effectively with Engineering and Operations leaders in department to ensure schedule needs are met and where any barriers to progress exist.
• Perform process development on new product introductions with an accelerated time to market

• Knowledge of CMM programming and workpiece holding and manual inspection methodology

Raytheon is currently seeking a Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department. This is an excellent position for engineers with a background in electrical design and software programming/automation, along with a desire to apply those skills to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures.  

You will be joining a project team responsible for the development of test solutions and architectures for various programs within Raytheon. Typical test development applications include analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embedded software/firmware design activities. Test architectures include a blend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), along with custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associated interface cabling and harnessing.

Engineers in this role will also have exposure to the full lifecycle development process - from the requirements definition phase of the test solution design process through the verification and final system sell-off in a production facility or field/depot environment.

What You Will Do

• Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span multiple disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital)

  The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
