How this role contributes to the Y's mission:
As a Y Head Start Assistant Teacher, you will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, center administration, family advocates and family members to implement curriculum to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities as well as ensure successful operation of the program. You will be a resource to multiple classrooms in order to ensure safety, supervision, and regulatory compliance. You'll be responsible for ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the program. You will contribute to the creation of an environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child in your care. As a Y Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by working with our littlest participants who are economically disadvantaged and help them prepare for success in school and life.

In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.Responsibilities include:
Providing daily supervision and mentorship
Managing household routines and student schedules
Administering medications and ensuring student wellness

Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.Benefits include:
