• Operates and troubleshoots NC, CNC, milling and turning machines. Performs minor setup activities as well.

Qualifications include:

• Experience in aseptic or GMP/regulated manufacturing. H.S. diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience. Completed all safety, environmental and task training certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers, co-workers, contactors, and team members. Very good communications and decision-making skills.

The Retort Operator is to oversee and guide the cooking process to ensure that the product is completely sterilized and of the highest quality.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Accessing menus on a LCD screen to load the appropriate recipe on the retort oven.
2. Loading/unloading trays of food into the retort oven.
3. Scheduling workload in loading the retort ovens.
4. Overseeing the cooking process by watching the cooking gauges for pressure measured in PSI, temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, and water flow in gallons per minute. Watching for variances in three factors and making any necessary adjustments to compensate accordingly.
5. Logging every batch (start/stop times), loading number of trays in the retort log and the count sheet for computer entry.
6. Verifying the log sheet throughout their shift and at the end of the shift for accuracy.
7. Perform other duties as listed on SWES and/or training register

Work Environment:

The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and can be regularly exposed to extreme hot or cold. The employee is constantly exposed to vibrations. The employee is also exposed to fumes, or airborne particles. The work environment can be noisy and/or moderately loud. Some personal protective equipment may be mandatory depending on location.

Physical Requirements:
