Our client is looking to hire an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across a broad range of litigation matters for their Albany, NY office. This is a permanent, hybrid position with 3 days onsite.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with prior experience in a litigation firm who can effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong organizational, calendaring, and scheduling skills, along with the ability to handle a high-volume caseload and collaborate with multiple attorneys.
- You will be responsible for drafting and preparing a variety of legal documents, including notices, motions, subpoenas, stipulations, discovery responses, and affidavits for attorney review.
- Assist in obtaining and organizing records—such as medical and educational documents—through vendors and subpoenas, and prepare exhibits and supporting materials for motion practice, depositions, and trial.
- Additional duties include conducting legal research using tools like Lexis and Westlaw
- Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege, and analyzing case materials, reports, and discovery responses.
- Accurate tracking of billable time in accordance with firm policies is also required.
- You should have a solid understanding of federal and state court procedures, including electronic filing systems such as PACER, NYSCEF, and e-law/e-track, as well as strong research capabilities.
- At least four years of relevant experience, excellent organizational and follow-up skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive assignments.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and document management tools such as Kofax is expected.
