This position is instrumental for the overall functioning in the delivery of behavioral healthcare to all patients and adherence to all other regulatory agencies.
Overview Major Duties and Essential Functions: Provides for the seamless transition of patients across the continuum of care.
In collaboration with medical staff, to ensure a superior care experience and a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Coordinates patient care for the department of psychiatry during off-shift hours of operation.
Manages staffing during a census surge or decline.
Manages and coordinates patient flow i.e., admissions and discharges.

Communicates in a timely manner with the Leadership Team Interfaces with police and other regulatory agencies that come on-site when administrators are not present.
Completes Performance Improvement/Quality Audits.
Builds trust with the nursing staff through visibility.
Requirements/Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in an Inpatient psychiatric setting.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in management and leadership with knowledge of data management and analysis.
Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and display proficient oral/written communication skills.
Previous adult behavioral health experience is strongly preferred.
Must have active DC RN license or be eligible for endorsement.
Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare, Public Administration or Business is strongly preferred.
Supervisory Controls: This position reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing.
This position has indirect supervisory responsibilities as needed.
