Primary Duties: 

  • Performs all forms of ultrasound imaging and assists in interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients. Explains procedures, screens, prepares, and positions patients for examinations.  

  • Prepares equipment, selects appropriate transducer and ensures that the necessary supply items are available for each examination. Performs examinations according to department protocols and adjusts equipment appropriately to ensure satisfactory images.  

  • Performs image photography and film processing. Reviews and evaluates completed examinations for quality and completeness. Performs and/or utilizes knowledge of physical assessments (i.e., blood pressure, pulse, respiration), intravenous care, and aseptic techniques.  

  • Responsible for proper use of MARS information system to perform verification of all examinations performed. Ensures that supply levels are adequate in assigned area. Communicates with appropriate individual when the department inventory has been or is approaching depletion.  

  • Assists with the training and orientation of new employees and students. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate degree or 1-3 years formal training in ultrasonography. 

  • 1-2 years progressively more responsible job-related experience. 

  • At least one registration from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

General Summary of Position
Provides professional nursing care for transplant patients following established standards and practices. Functions to advance the clinical mission and goals of the Department through collaborative relationships within the Medical Center. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Performs professional nursing service in inpatient/outpatient clinical settings including but not limited to: patient assessment teaching discharge planning and telephone triage.

MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) advanced practice registered nurse who functions as a clinical expert educator, consultant leader, researcher/evidence-based practice translator and change agent operating within a professional evidenced-based practice framework that utilizes the three spheres of influence: patient/family nursing and system organization. The CNS coaches, educates and leads nursing staff in evidence-based clinical practice quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and conducts facilitates or applies research to enhance patient care and outcomes. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
