Mission Statement:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome for construction projects assigned. The Senior Project Manager leads and manages a team of high-performing project managers, assistant project managers and/or project engineers to deliver exceptional results for our clients using business practices consistent with our company values. The position proactively develops deeper relationships with current and potential customers leading to additional business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Create predictable outcomes on projects, eliminating variances and negative swings as projects progress.
- Champion A-C Best Practices: Safety, Lean Construction, Continuous Improvement, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Adjust), Eliminate Waste and Fabrication
- Develop and manage project team members, establishing project objectives and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policies.
- Ensure project teams are beating project budgets and creating raving fans of our customers.
- Ensure company processes and procedures are being followed across all project teams and verticals
- Champion and ensure adherence to A-C Electric Company’s standards of quality, safety, and best practices from project turnover to project close-out for project teams.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client
- Anticipate project challenges, identify risks and mitigate accordingly thereby clearing roadblocks for your project team
- Manage, mentor, and develop a group of direct and indirect team members.
- Manage monthly project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting, requiring project budget is effectively managed and driving profitability through ensuring effective project execution.
- Proactively and systematically communicate challenges, risks, and successes.
- Review and identify contracts for “gotcha” subtleties and share with the project team.
- Resource forecasting and allocation, working closely with Superintendent and Procurement
- Identify improvements, gaps, and successes and share with project teams for execution.
- Production tracking. Assist teams with proper setup, management, and interpretation of the data through Track
- Incorporate LEAN construction concepts to deliver outstanding project results (Pull Planning, Daily Huddles, SIPs, 5s, Waste Elimination, PDCA)
- Teaching and ensuring procurement practices are followed related to materials, subcontracts, and other required construction expenditures
- Identifying teachable opportunities to utilize prefabrication and other production / safety / quality enhancement practices with your teams for your projects.
- Own the construction process map and providing input to improving and standardizing processes
- Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline preferred. (Can be a combination of education, training, and other relevant work experience.)
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction.
- Ability to read construction documents including plan set and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects
- Demonstrated ability to run a profitable portfolio.
- Knowledge of the construction industry; contracts, project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, equipment, and means and methods required.

Pay Range: $90,000 – $195,000 per year. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Business Plan and Achieve Market Vertical Financial and Growth Outcomes:
- Aligning with organizational goals and objectives, create and execute the plan to grow the market vertical profitably
Vertical Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive vertical plans that outline objectives, milestones, and deliverables specific to the requirements of the market vertical and aligned with corporate project management processes and systems.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage integrated teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. This includes setting the criteria for selecting team members, both internal and external and maintaining a network of resources from which to draw.
- Identify and address training and development needs within the team.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for market stakeholders: Executive Leadership Team as well as clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and presentations, providing updates on the financial, marketing, talent and growth of the market vertical and addressing concerns.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential market risks and issues, developing mitigation and contingency plans to address them.
- Monitor and manage market risks, escalating critical issues to executive management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and/or oversee creation of and management of the business plan, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
- Provide financial forecasts, actuals, and variances, providing regular financial reports to executive management.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success within the vertical and team performance.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, including status updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate processes and tools, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Promote best practices and standardization.

Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling and auditing of vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers.

Other Requirements
Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (includes protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Candidates must be referred for selection to the Border Patrol Agent position before reaching their 40th birthday in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Directive 251-03. The age restriction may not apply if you are currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement (non-military) position covered by Title 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or Title 5 U.S.C. 8412(d).
Veterans' Preference: You may also be eligible for an excepted service Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA). The age restriction does not apply if you are Veterans' Preference eligible.
Formal Training: After you are hired, you will be detailed to the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico, for approximately six (6) months of intensive instruction in immigration and nationality laws, law enforcement and USBP-specific operations, driver training, physical techniques, firearms, and other courses. Border Patrol work requires the ability to speak and read Spanish, as well as English. Border Patrol Agents will be provided training to become proficient with the Spanish language at the Academy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical assignments include:
- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
- Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations
- Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband
- Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
- Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.

Safety Transportation Manager
SALARY RANGE: $105,000 - $118,000/year
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transportation Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure the safe operation of the company's fleet of vehicles, compliance with regulatory requirements, and promotion of a strong safety culture. This role will focus on reducing transportation safety risks, preventing accidents, and ensuring that drivers and transportation operations comply with company policies and government regulations. The Manager is responsible for coaching drivers and reinforcing safe driving and work behaviors across the organization. This position plays a critical role in managing and improving the safety culture by leveraging the Lytx safety system, conducting ride-along training, classroom instruction, and post-incident retraining. The manager will work closely with operations management to monitor and enhance overall safety performance in each division.
This position requires frequent travel—approximately 50% of the time—between our Bakersfield and Santa Clarita locations to support driver training, safety coaching, and operational safety initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement comprehensive driver safety programs tailored to the company's waste transportation operations, ensuring alignment with corporate safety standards and goals.
- Coach employees on unsafe driving and work behaviors using the Lytx camera system. Provide feedback and corrective actions to address safety concerns.
- Maintain detailed and specific notes of coaching discussions using the Lytx coaching module. Monitor and review camera system data to identify high-risk behaviors and provide real-time coaching.
- Participate in local division safety training sessions as required.
- Conduct Smith System classroom driver training on a weekly basis.
- Perform on-road Smith System driver certifications as needed, providing hands-on training to drivers.

- Collaborate in the development and implementation of safety programs and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations and corporate policies. Use accident trend data to identify areas for improvement and develop programs to reduce or prevent future occurrences.
- Monitor safety analytics for the company using data from the Lytx camera system and other sources to drive behavioral changes and safety improvements. Develop and identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Review vehicle camera systems regularly to ensure they are functioning properly. Escalate camera or equipment issues to local division shops and management for repair as needed. Coordinate equipment purchases and vendor repairs in collaboration with local divisions.
- Collaborate with operational personnel to implement best practices and continuously develop safety knowledge policies across the organization.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for vehicle camera equipment and software, providing technical support and ensuring optimal system performance.
- Supervise and mentor Driver Trainers/Coaches to ensure they adhere to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures. Provide guidance and correct errors or inconsistencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a transportation safety management position is required. Experience in refuse/waste management is strongly preferred.

- Must be able to pass and become certified in the Smith System driver safety program.
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Spanish.
