As an Integral Fuel Cell Assembly (In-Tank Mechanic), you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety while working within the confined spaces of aircraft fuel tanks. This position requires assembling and installing structural components, systems, and sub-assemblies to meet stringent quality requirements. You will be responsible for verifying kitted parts, performing drilling, riveting, and bonding, as well as assembling plumbing and electrical systems within the tank. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you conduct continuity checks, perform necessary rework, and ensure that all installations comply with specifications. Please note that this role involves working in tight spaces, including entering the wing through a approximately 9.5" x 17.7" opening; therefore, comfort with confined spaces is essential for success in this position.

Position Responsibilities :
Assemble and install parts, structural components, systems, and sub-assemblies to meet quality requirements for wing and horizontal stabilizer assemblies.
Review bar charts or automated timelines to determine job assignments and obtain necessary drawings.
Locate work areas using drawings, installation plans, or other paperwork that specifies airplane and section numbers.
Obtain and verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials to ensure they are correct and free of defects.
Retrieve parts from the Parts Control Area or other designated locations if they are not pre-picked, ensuring they meet specifications.
Obtain a two-way radio and confined space flag before working in confined spaces, adhering to Communications System for Confined Hazardous Areas (CSCHA) rules and regulations.
Perform drilling, reaming, riveting, cold working, bonding, grounding, and sealing as necessary to complete work assignments.
Assemble and install aircraft plumbing and electrical systems within closed areas of the wing and horizontal stabilizer, ensuring compliance with specifications.
Perform pickup and rework, incorporating changes and conducting functional checks on work typically installed by lower classifications.
Perform continuity checks for electrical systems and hand form electrical wiring and soldering as necessary for work assignments.
Perform final cleaning and closing of fuel cells, including vacuuming and installing fuel cell doors.
Locate and pre-install routing and clamping hardware for in-wing fuel tank electrical and plumbing systems as required.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify that quality standards are achieved.
Report job handicaps, such as errors in sequencing, parts, materials, and assembly procedures, following shop procedures.
Check work after completion of each operation to ensure assembly is complete and free of defects and remove and replace installations and related components as necessary.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Position Responsibilities:

Initiate and document any nonconforming materials or assemblies according to specifications and procedures.

Review manufacturing plans and other documentation for completeness and compliance, identifying any discrepancies.

The Boeing Company is looking for a Systems Engineering Senior Manager – Enterprise Regulatory Administration to join our team in Everett, Washington .
The Safety, Security & Airworthiness organization is seeking to fill a Senior Manager position within the Enterprise Regulatory Administration team. This position is responsible for teams associated with the administration, oversight, and support of the FAA appointed Boeing Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit, including Engineering Unit Members, Inspection Unit Members, and Project Administrators who perform functions on behalf of the FAA. This includes overseeing the appointment, training, and annual assessment of the ODA Unit Members. This role will provide technical leadership to support the communication and resolution of complex regulatory and compliance issues with the FAA and ODA unit members.
The ideal candidate has experience in leading cross-functional teams, integration across IPTs, certification, safety, and systems engineering. The candidate will have the ability to lead and influence other organizations (programs, functions), the ability to take ambiguous and complex topics and clearly communicate intent, and to plan and drive outcomes. Coordination with regulatory agency counterparts and internal stakeholders will also be central to this role.
The successful candidate must be qualified, in accordance with FAA Order 8100.15, to be appointed by the FAA as an Administrator for the Boeing ODA unit.
This position manages a direct-reporting team of first-level managers and non-management employees performing engineering and technical activities in the Systems Engineering skill area. Position Overview:
- Prepare certification documents and artifacts for submission to Regulatory Administration and FAA stakeholders; ensure artifacts are complete, traceable, and aligned to applicable requirements.
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Acquires resources for department activities and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with regulatory authorities, customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
- Establishes and implements team priorities and leads accomplishment of organizational objectives
- Creates a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement to achieve organizational quality, productivity, and timeliness results
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Everett, WA site.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience as a leader or manager
- Experience and familiarity with certification processes and procedures and ODA and Applicant roles
- Currently or previously held an FAA ODA Unit Member or Administrator or FAA Designee appointment, or is able to readily obtain an FAA appointment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Experience with FAA regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the ODA functions
- 3+ years of experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on type Certification projects
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, current engineering managers who do not have an engineering degree but have previous experience in a professional exempt engineering SJC classification will still be considered for exception
- Practical experience conducting analyses and studies for safety, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties to ensure mission success
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead with the Boeing values & behaviors
- Proven ability in team building, coaching, and employee development
- Expertise in resolving cross-functional and cross-program technical and organizational issues
- Experience applying systems engineering and project management best practices
