About the Role

The Clinical Director serves as the clinical leader of Oakstone Hospice in Idaho Falls, responsible for overseeing all patient care services, ensuring compliance, and managing the performance of the clinical team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maintaining high standards of care, supporting the existing team, and ensuring operations run smoothly day to day. The Clinical Director will work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in sustaining and elevating clinical excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care and clinical operations
  • Ensure compliance with all hospice regulations
  • Lead IDT meetings and coordinate care
  • Manage and support clinical team performance
  • Maintain accurate documentation and survey readiness

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Nurse Manager of the Progressive Care Unit you will be responsible for planning, administering, and evaluating the operations of the department. You will collaborate with physicians to expedite information and have the ability to lead, coach and mentor our skilled staff. We are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care to our most vulnerable patients and feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

In our Unit:

  • We work with a variety of patient needs ranging from burns, cardiac, medical, trauma and telemetry
  • We are a Team of 70+ nurses and technicians
  • We have 36 beds and are one of the busiest inpatient units in our hospital
  • We are Proud to be a part of the largest medical facility in the region with the most diverse patient needs
  • We offer training opportunities to transfer to our Medical and Burn ICUs
  • We work closely together in support of our patients

In this Manager role:

  • You will have experience with role modeling and sustaining patient and family centered care and direct staff as they care for patients and educate families.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate patient care, maintaining departmental flow and directing the staff assignments as needed.
  • You will work with the Director on department staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
  • You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
  • You will develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospitals vision.
  • You will be skilled at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
  • You will have the ability to effectively coordinate functions with staff, physicians and other departments of the hospital with a focus on throughput based on the patient’s needs. 
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Idaho nursing license in good standing or compact
  • Associate Degree in Nursing Required with Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Past clinical experience working in a high acuity hospital environment with progressive levels of increased responsibility and/or past supervisory experience 
  • Occasional/ Intermittent Required
  • Previous RN Hospital experience required 
  • Charge or other leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Willing to train the right culture fit if you are driven and motivated to learn!
