Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare complex documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate pleadings, accountings, deeds, and court filings.
- Organize, value, and marshal estate and trust assets, handle asset transfers and funding of trusts, and assist with tax research and planning.
- Support the attorney by maintaining probate and trust administration timelines, compliance calendars, and accurate client records.
- Communicate with clients, heirs, fiduciaries, and courts to gather information, relay status updates, coordinate signings/executions, and provide empathetic guidance.
- Oversee and review case files, prepare status reports, and coordinate with other administrative and legal staff to ensure seamless workflow.
- Monitor deadlines, e-file documents, maintain documentation for meetings and calls, and notarize as needed.
- Conduct legal and factual research on estate, trust, and probate issues, including reviewing real estate records and coordinating transfers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in estate planning, probate, or trust administration, preferably in a boutique or client-focused setting.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience required.
- Superior drafting skills and experience with Washington court rules and filings.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, able to manage multiple cases independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office, document management, and calendar software.
- Strong communication skills and empathetic, professional client manner.
- Notary Public (or willingness to obtain) preferred

What You'll Be Doing
At ELG Estate Planning, you won't just draft documents, you'll help people feel confident and secure about their futures. As a key member of our Tri-Cities team, you'll:
- Craft Personalized Estate Plans - Help clients design tailored plans that reflect their goals, values, and family situations, including wills, trusts, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney.
- Guide Clients Through Long-Term Care Planning - Advise on options for long-term care strategies to protect assets while accessing quality care.
- Provide Probate & Trust Administration - Assist families with navigating post-death legal processes compassionately and clearly.
- Help Clients Plan for Incapacity - Draft and explain durable powers of attorney and healthcare directives so clients can choose who makes legal, financial, and medical decisions for them if they can't.
- Collaborate With a Supportive Team - Work alongside experienced attorneys and professionals who care deeply about client outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Educate and Empower - Translate complex legal issues into understandable guidance, helping clients make informed choices about their legal and financial futures.
- Network and Grow – Participate in community outreach, speaking engagements, and relationship-building that expand ELG's impact
You'll help clients not just plan for what happens after they're gone, but also what happens as life unfolds, from aging concerns to preserving quality of life and peace of mind.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 4+ years' experience practicing law
- 2+ years' experience in Estate Planning, Tax, Probate, or Trust Administration
- Washington State bar license
Preferred:
- Experience in Elder Law, Medicaid, Business Law, Real Estate, Tax law, or Probate Litigation
- Bar license in Idaho
- Public speaking and presentation experience

Compensation & Benefits
Total compensation: $85,000 – $110,000+ (DOE). We believe strong attorneys deserve strong support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mediation experience is highly preferred.
- Trial experience preferred but not required.
- Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues.
- Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
- Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients.
- Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
- Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions
- Communicating and advising clients.
- Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficient reach production/collection objectives.
- Closing consults within Gravis range of 30-50% depending on practice area.
- Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
- Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs social media posts, board, and organization participation, etc.
- Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*:
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent legal research skills.
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice.
- 3+ years of experience as an attorney.
*Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
ATTORNEY EMPLOYEE BENEFITS, COMPENSATION & BONUS PROGRAM:
Gravis Law offers a professional work environment, a competitive salary including bonuses, along with generous benefits which generally include:
Wage: Potential base compensation is $125,000-$160,000 per year DOE
Bonus Program: The Attorney is expected to meet all Quarterly Collection Requirements. Additional information about the Quarterly Collection Requirement and the Attorney Bonus Program will be provided to the Attorney for review and signature.
