Manufacturing Operations Manager Position at Blue Water Controls

Who You Are

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.

This role combines day-to-day operational management with long-term strategic planning to support company growth and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of custom automation systems.

This role requires a mix of strategic thinking, practical know-how, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.

Your Key Responsibilities are in these Four Areas

Operations Management

• Lead and manage all manufacturing activities, including mechanical assembly, panel building, machining, and final equipment testing and runoff. Establish work priorities and timelines to meet delivery dates and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate inventory, Bill of Materials tracking, equipment resource and subcontractor services to meet project demands.
• Oversee facility maintenance which includes creating a clean and organized shop environment, curb appeal, buildings and grounds, equipment, vehicles, and maintenance.

Safety & Compliance

• Establish and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and training programs in compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for workplace safety initiatives, employee trainings and compliance efforts.

Strategic Planning & Process Improvement

• Develop and execute short- and long-term manufacturing strategies aligned with company growth objectives. Provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Assess equipment and workforce needs to support future growth, including capacity planning and capital investments.
• Identify opportunities to introduce lean manufacturing practices, automation, or new technologies.

Leadership & Team Development

• Manage and mentor a team of skilled builders, technicians, machinists, and shop personnel.
• Support employee development through training, performance feedback, and goal-setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong sales pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets
• Generate leads and conduct product demo
• Prepare sales proposals, discuss and negotiate with prospects, and prepare/facilitate account creation and contracts
• Update SFDC, prepare and present forecasts and sales reports to senior management on a regular basis
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term loyalty and trust
• Collaborate with the marketing team to help develop and execute effective sales campaigns, promotions, and lead generation activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all sales activities including working closely with the Finance team
• Monitor, stay informed and relay market intelligence about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field. Master’s preferred
• Understanding of overall Manufacturing Sector
• Tech orientation with familiarity in newer and emerging technologies
• 3-4 years B2B Enterprise sales experience with proven track record
• E-learning industry experience with Platform and SaaS sales experience preferred
• Experience in connecting with Engineering leaders and executives preferred
• Understanding of Automotive Industry
• Relevant experience in working with Academia for student skilling will be added advantage
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills
• Has demonstrated initiative and is self-driven
• Proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) and other sales productivity tools

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Sales Account Manager to meet or exceed sales and business objectives within assigned accounts and territory by providing control valve, isolation, actuation and process solutions to our customers.

Sales success will be obtained by solving our customer’s problems. A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to customer’s issues and translate them into implementable solutions that utilize Cornerstone/Emerson products and services. Key to successful sales growth will be the Account Manager’s ability to identify opportunities for improvement within a customer’s operation, develop a solution that will make a business impact to the operation, and demonstrate that the investment in the Cornerstone/Emerson solution will result in a return on investment for the customer.

The position reports to the Marketing Supervisor and works closely with marketing, business development, and technical teams.

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate will work closely with the various Business Development Associates, Operational Managers and senior staff throughout the company. Primary job responsibilities will include the following:

Marketing & Proposal Support:

• Coordinate and manage the end to end proposal development process, from go/no go through final submission
• Assist with the coordination, development, editing, and production of SOQs, presentations, SF330’s and more using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office365
• Support proposal strategy sessions and assist with presentation development and production
• Write, edit, and format proposal content, resumes, project descriptions, and boilerplate content using Deltek CRM, Microsoft Office, and Adobe tools
• Maintain proposal content libraries, resumes, project sheets, and boilerplate materials
• Support proposal close out activities, debriefs, and process improvements
• Assist with market research to help offices identify trends, clients, and competitors
• Support regional marketing and business development meetings as needed

Graphic Design & Brand Support:

• Produce and update marketing graphics for proposals, presentations, and collateral in accordance with NOVA brand standards
• Assist with maintaining and growing NOVA’s internal graphics and template library
• Support the development of regional marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, conference displays, and digital assets
• Ensure consistency with corporate branding across all marketing materials

Social Media & Digital Marketing:

• Assist with NOVA’s social media program to support brand awareness, recruiting, and community engagement
• Create and schedule social media content, including graphics and short-form copy, in coordination with the marketing team
• Help track engagement metrics and support reporting on social media performance

Systems & Administration:

• Support the Client, Project, and Employee Database (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint)
• Assist with tracking business opportunities and leads in the CRM
• Help coordinate the renewal of annual contracts and pre-qualification certifications

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Education:

• Minimum 2 years of marketing experience or equivalent (A/E/C industry preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI) and Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat), as well as experience in database management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong quality control skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint Applications, including Deltek Vantagepoint’s CRM Software a plus
• Motivated self-starter with ability to problem solve
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to travel between offices on occasion
