Key Responsibilities: Accounting Leadership & Oversight:.
Take full ownership of the monthly close process.
Perform and review account reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

Troubleshoot discrepancies and resolve integration or posting issues within the DMS.
Ensure accounting processes align with dealership operational flow.
Operational Accounting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations while a staff member handles transactional AP/AR.
Provide review and guidance over transactional work.
Ensure accuracy in general ledger activity and reporting.
Improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
Sales Tax & Compliance: Manage and ensure compliance with Texas sales tax regulations.
Review and oversee preparation of sales tax filings.
Research and resolve sales tax questions as needed.
Systems & Process: Leverage prior DMS experience to understand how sales, finance, and service transactions integrate into accounting.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Prior dealership accounting experience (highly preferred).
Experience working in a Dealership Management System (DMS) environment.
Strong understanding of the dealership transaction lifecycle.
Proven ability to perform detailed account reconciliations.
Experience preparing financial statements independently.
Hands-on Texas sales tax experience (required).
Audit background strongly preferred (audit-trained mindset with independent ownership).
High sense of urgency and strong follow-through.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Comfortable operating autonomously and taking initiative.
Direct report experience is a plus but not required.
Work Environment: Onsite role within Texas.
Fully remote is not an option at this time.
