We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated physician interested in working with an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population in a dynamic and supportive academic setting. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Responsibilities will include direct patient care and the teaching and supervision of Mount Sinai Urology residents and students in an academic community hospital setting. We are most in need of general urology but have subspecialty need for urologists with additional experience in robotics, reconstruction, female/pelvic medicine, voiding dysfunction and endourology. The division has multiple physician assistants, robots, urology residents and medical students rotation through the service at all times.
Candidates must have a MD degree, Urology Residency or Clinical Fellowship training and have a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. The multi-specialty group has four facilities located in Huntington, Nesconset, Bayshore and Commack. This role will be located in Huntington, at a new state-of-the-art facility which opened in the summer of 2018. Opportunity Details:
Provide comprehensive medical care, including on-site coverage in the Operating Room, Emergency Room, Patient Wards, and Clinic
Deliver direct patient care with a focus on quality and outcomes
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to staff and members of the neurosurgical team
- Participate in weekly staff conferences, including Grand Rounds, Quality Assurance meetings, M&M conferences, and other departmental meetings
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of Medical Records, Operative Dictation Reports, and Quality Improvement documentation
- Contribute to the maintenance of high-performance standards for physicians and other professional staff within the service
- Perform related work as assigned or directed by the Chief of Service
- Attend Director of Service meetings, Critical Care meetings, and other relevant departmental discussions
- Provide coverage for the Neurosurgery Clinic as required
- Oversee and manage all research initiatives within the department
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS)
- Current and unrestricted New York State Medical License
- Proficient in Interventional Neuroradiology (Neuro IR), with expertise in General and Vascular Neurosurgery

Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $425,000* based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $525,000**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $65,000.
401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

In addition to clinical, academic, quality, patient safety, and risk management responsibilities, you will also:
Provide patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of rehab conditions and pain
Develop rehab plans with a multidisciplinary team; prescribe therapies and interventions
Supervise, teach, and mentor students and residents/fellows; Complete timely documentation: notes, quality data, GME studies, billing, and reports
Attend meetings, serve on committees, and support leadership initiatives
ensure complete and accurate EMR documentation for reimbursement
Graduate of Doctor of Medicine (M.or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.Completion of ACGME-approved General Internal Medicine Residency and PM&R Fellowship
BC/BE in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Valid NYS medical license; Strong familiarity with competency-based residency training curriculum
Clinical and teaching experience in inpatient care, ideally in both academic and community hospital settings — highly preferred.
