Grocery Clerks can be found stocking shelves, filling the frozen foods bins, and helping maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store. As a Grocery Clerk, you could be receiving product deliveries, ensuring delivery accuracy, and moving product to the sales floor using several different types of equipment. At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Back Up Scan Coordinator requires a significant level of accuracy and responsibility to maintain the overall price integrity in their assigned store. This position conducts daily, weekly and monthly price changes, including changing shelf signs and tags, promotional signs and ensuring compliance with all company and governmental compliance regulations. The Back Up Scan Coordinator verifies weekly ad price changes, promotional price accuracy and pricing signage in all departments. This is a part-time position, scheduled for three 8-hour shifts, and can be combined with another Sprouts part-time position. At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Schematic Coordinator requires a significant level of accuracy and responsibility to maintain the overall Non-Perishable Schematic integrity in their assigned store. This position conducts weekly resets and speed-to-shelf activities, ensuring compliance with all company schematic guidelines. The Schematic Coordinator must be able to work quickly and with accuracy to support merchandising integrity in our stores.

Responsibilities 

Serve as primary schematic contact at the store and provide the Store Manager, NP ASM, Scan Coordinator and Dept Mangers with notice of reset changes 

Responsible for the scheduling, coordination and execution of store resets and projects for the Non-Perishable Depts (Dairy, Frozen, Grocery, HBA, Vitamins) 

Supports an active selling culture and positive customer experience by ensuring the categories are set according to the schematics for their store 

Works with the Scan Coordinators, Dept Manager and NP ASM to ensure schematic compliance is maintained and new items are correctly placed and available for purchase 

Complete weekly Reset/STS activity as directed by the Support Office 

Ensure schematics are executed in a manner consistent with internal policies and procedures 

Obtains sign off from Store Manager, NP ASM, or Dept Mangers to signify work is complete and accurate 

Provide timely feedback to Support Office Schematic Department for any issues or discrepancies

• Stocks dairy cases. This includes the presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Dairy Department schematics as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy
• Examines the rotation of all dairy products paying particular attention to expired stock and discarding outdated or spoiled items
• Responds positively to customers inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information, and product selection; requires selling and cross selling of products
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
• Monitors the point of purchase signs. Ensures a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods
• Requires operating and using equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
• Sustains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation
• Walks department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency degree
• Preferred 1 2 years grocery retail experience in Dairy department processes and procedures
• Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times
• Must be able to support and contribute to team goals
• Must have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates

• Upper body forces up to 10 lbs. for up to 1 hour are required
• Coupling forces between 50-60 lbs. for up to 10 hours are required
• Must use a 2 step stool to access shelves for up to 1 step per 8 hours
• Must repetitively bend/squat to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours
• Requires standing continuously for up to 4 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
• Will work inside controlled temperatures, as well as coolers/freezers
• Vision is required to order, stock and inventory all dairy products
• Walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected

Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, our Bakery Clerks work in one of the most popular departments in the store. Who doesnt want a hot chocolate chip cookie every so often? As a Bakery Clerk, you will assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising items such as cakes, pies, rolls, muffins, breads, and other baked goods. You will simultaneously answer questions for our customers while ensuring the cleanliness of bakery aisles, storage areas, and work area for safety. This includes the cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris from floor, and sweeping. As a Bakery Clerk, you will maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment. You will stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items. You will receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality. Our Bakery Department products are second to none. Qualifications

To be a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age with a High school diploma or equivalent; with 1-2 years Bakery experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers.
• Have good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed. Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift. This role also requires vertically transferring trays up to 5 lbs., from 7 to 64 for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5 to 36, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, while achieving and maintaining a Food Handlers permit.
