Field Service Automation Engineer

Position Overview
The organization is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Automation Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on field experience, in-depth technical knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms, and the ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced industrial environments.
This role requires a safety‑focused professional with strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to customers.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certification (required)
- 5-10 years of hands-on field service experience in industrial automation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Strong experience with Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
- Proficiency with FactoryTalk ME and SE for HMI/SCADA development and support
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Strong electrical, controls, and systems integration troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time‑management abilities
- Ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced, high‑demand environments
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, commission, and service industrial automation systems
- Program, troubleshoot, and modify Rockwell PLC systems
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA applications using FactoryTalk ME/SE
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to VFDs, control panels, instrumentation, and field devices
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to support field activities
- Provide on‑site technical support and training to customers
- Document service activities, system changes, and improvement recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure successful project execution
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA and site‑specific safety standards
