Field Service Automation Engineer

Position Overview

The organization is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Automation Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on field experience, in-depth technical knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms, and the ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced industrial environments.


This role requires a safety‑focused professional with strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to customers.


Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 Certification (required)
  • 5-10 years of hands-on field service experience in industrial automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong experience with Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
  • Proficiency with FactoryTalk ME and SE for HMI/SCADA development and support
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Electrical schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Strong electrical, controls, and systems integration troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong time‑management abilities
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced, high‑demand environments


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, commission, and service industrial automation systems
  • Program, troubleshoot, and modify Rockwell PLC systems
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA applications using FactoryTalk ME/SE
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to VFDs, control panels, instrumentation, and field devices
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to support field activities
  • Provide on‑site technical support and training to customers
  • Document service activities, system changes, and improvement recommendations
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA and site‑specific safety standards
