The Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital (MSSN) seeks a Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary in Oceanside, NY!
The Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai has 10 physician faculty members at the hospital, including general GI, advanced interventionalists, mobility, IBD and hepatology experts. In addition, there are full time GI faculty at Mount Sinai Doctors Practices across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and there are many voluntary GI physicians closely affiliated with the hospital and our endoscopic services. The hospital provides a full platform of specialized high-tech interventions (POEMS, EUS, etc.) in our very busy endoscopy unit, and the hospital performs complex hepatobiliary procedures, has an IBD center, a Mobility Center and there are two new major outpatient state-of-the-art ambulatory pavilions. The Division has 8 GI fellows (6 regular GI fellows plus 2 advanced interventional fellows) and participates closely with the Internal Medicine and General Surgery residency programs, and our colo-rectal surgeons. The Division partners closely with the world-renowned main NYC Mount Sinai academic program and produces significant academic publications each year. The selected candidate will continue to develop clinical services, provide administrative oversight and manage quality and safety performance metrics, as they help to further expand our growing Division. The candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, based upon background and experience.

The ideal candidate for this position is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist who has practiced for at least five years and has a demonstrated interest in and commitment to overseeing a large and expanding GI service. The Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary will be eligible for a faculty appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine as appropriate. This position will be supported as per ACGME recommendations, with the expectation that the selected candidate will also continue clinical practice in gastroenterology.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is part of the Mount Sinai Health System We are actively seeking to recruit Program Director for our ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency. This is position presents the opportunity lead the training program as well as maintain clinical practice in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. In addition to excellent clinical and leadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of academic excellence and be knowledgeable of ACGME policies, procedures and program requirements.
Responsibilities
Participate in all phases of maintaining ACGME standards.
Oversee the programmatic and curriculum.
Communicate the mission of the residency throughout the hospital and community we serve.
Attend the ISMSS GME Affiliation Committee and other applicable meetings forging strong institutional working relationships.
Organize and implement residency recruitment strategies.
Serve as faculty for the ACGME Family Medicine Residency Program.

Establishment of mechanisms to provide career planning and counseling for residents and to deal with problems such as those related to psychological stress.
Selection of candidates for admission to the program, in accordance with policies of ISMMS and MSSN.
Assessment of performance of each resident through a well-organized program of in training evaluation. This will include the final evaluation at the end of the program as required by the ACGME.
Maintenance of an appeal mechanism. The Residency Program Committee should receive, and review appeals from residents following the appropriate promotion, dismissal and grievance policy.
Supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff members at the primary teaching institutions as well as additional institutions/private practices that may participate in the residency program..
Gathering and reporting complete and accurate information as requested by the accrediting, licensure, certification and funding agencies.
Assuring compliance with institutional and accrediting agency requirements and appropriate notification of major programmatic changes and obtaining approval from GMEC prior to their implementation.

The Mount Sinai Department of Neurology is seeking enthusiastic applicants for a fulfilling inpatient neurology opportunity.
This full-time position consists of inpatient consultative general neurology work at Mount Sinai Queens, part of the New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System. You will provide high quality care for patients with a broad range of basic and complex neurological diseases and neurological manifestations of systemic illness. Acute stroke and neurovascular diseases are not included in this role, as these are separately managed by our world-class Stroke Team. You will frequently collaborate with our superb neurological subspecialists (particularly in epilepsy and stroke). Finally, Mount Sinai Queens is a teaching site for the medical student core Neurology Clerkship, which is overseen by the on-service Neurology attending. Schedule opportunities include a combination of inpatient weeks, inpatient weekends, and outpatient time, depending on the applicant’s preferences. This full-time position is available immediately for a board certified/board eligible adult Neurologist, capable in both General Neurology and Stroke. Elmhurst Hospital is a Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and the candidate will be joining three other full-time stroke providers. Responsibilities include alternating direct inpatient (Stroke Ward or General Consultation services) and some outpatient follow up care. Key responsibilities include teaching, supervision and mentoring of PGY3 Neurology Residents, Medical Students, Stroke Fellows as well as mid-level Providers in an academic setting.
Candidates must have a MD degree and be board eligible or certified in both Neurology and Stroke with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. The department is focused on growing its orthognathic practice and is launching bone regeneration and implantology services. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a 545-bed tertiary care facility and an ACS-verified level 1 trauma center in the ethnically diverse borough of Queens, NY.
Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents in both clinic and sedation settings and providing guidance in clinical decision-making, patient management and surgical technique. There are operating room privileges available, though not required to cover OR duties.
Candidates must have a DDS or DMD degree and be board eligible/board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number.
