Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field crews through full life-cycle DC power system installs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Interpret one-line diagrams and project drawings to plan safe, on-time, in-budget work.
  • Conduct daily tail-gate safety meetings and maintain hazard-free job sites.
  • Perform live-power work in accordance with IEEE and customer standards; execute hot cuts during maintenance windows.
  • Test, commission, and troubleshoot batteries, UPSs, rectifiers, and related distribution equipment; document results and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary on-site customer interface, resolving scope changes and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Mentor Level 1–3 technicians, driving quality audits and continuous skill development.
  • Track crew time, expenses, tooling, and material needs; provide clear progress reports to project management.
  • Travel inter-island up to 80 percent with occasional overnight stays; maintain DOT medical card eligibility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on DC power installation, maintenance, or repair experience, including central-office or data-center environments.
  • Demonstrated crew-lead or foreman experience managing multiple concurrent jobs.
  • Proficiency with AC ⁄ DC theory, battery technologies, and safe live-power work practices.
  • Ability to read schematics, create Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and conduct in-process quality audits.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain or hold a DOT medical card.
  • TWIC card (or willingness to obtain) and ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Nice-to-Have

  • OEM factory training on major UPS brands (e.g., Powerware, Liebert, APC).
  • Journeyman electrician or similar certification.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors on large-scale critical-power projects.

What We Offer

  • Hourly Pay: Competitive DOE with overtime potential.
  • First-day Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability.
