Field Power Systems Lead
Location: Honolulu, HI (servicing Oahu with inter-island travel as needed)

As the Field Power Systems Lead, you will be the technical “go-to” for complex DC and AC power installations across the Hawaiian Islands. You will guide a small crew, own project execution from kickoff through customer sign-off, and help shape a growing regional team while enjoying first-day benefits, a company vehicle, and a highly competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field crews through full life-cycle DC power system installs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Interpret one-line diagrams and project drawings to plan safe, on-time, in-budget work.
- Conduct daily tail-gate safety meetings and maintain hazard-free job sites.
- Perform live-power work in accordance with IEEE and customer standards; execute hot cuts during maintenance windows.
- Test, commission, and troubleshoot batteries, UPSs, rectifiers, and related distribution equipment; document results and corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary on-site customer interface, resolving scope changes and coordinating subcontractors.
- Mentor Level 1–3 technicians, driving quality audits and continuous skill development.
- Track crew time, expenses, tooling, and material needs; provide clear progress reports to project management.
- Travel inter-island up to 80 percent with occasional overnight stays; maintain DOT medical card eligibility.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on DC power installation, maintenance, or repair experience, including central-office or data-center environments.
- Demonstrated crew-lead or foreman experience managing multiple concurrent jobs.
- Proficiency with AC ⁄ DC theory, battery technologies, and safe live-power work practices.
- Ability to read schematics, create Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and conduct in-process quality audits.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain or hold a DOT medical card.
- TWIC card (or willingness to obtain) and ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
Nice-to-Have
- OEM factory training on major UPS brands (e.g., Powerware, Liebert, APC).
- Journeyman electrician or similar certification.
- Experience supervising subcontractors on large-scale critical-power projects.
