PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function for a Diesel Technician will be to perform tractor preventative maintenance and repairs to advance mechanical and electrical troubleshooting procedures.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair and maintain company tractors and/or trailers using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits utilizing computer based software diagnostic programs and printed wiring schematics
  • Recondition, repair, and/or replace parts
  • Perform routine maintenance checks including inspecting the brake system, wheel bearings, electrical system, and air systems
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engine/driveline/ABS related issues utilizing sound mechanical knowledge and computer-based diagnostic programs
  • Ability to set up and use common cutting, welding, and metal fabrication tooling and equipment as needed to complete trailer repairs
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical school degree and/or previous tractor/trailer repair experience
  • Must have valid Driver’s License
  • Must be attentive to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced, physically demanding workload
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Operates with a high level of autonomy through use of excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills as applicable to patients in the acute care setting and clinic setting. a. Conducts appropriately detailed assessments/evaluations of patients and families which may include health histories, physical examinations and evaluation of health risk factors; b. Orders and interprets lab, radiographic, bedside records, and other clinical data sources in the context of the patient?s diagnosis(ses) and condition; c. Establishes medical diagnosis(ses); d. Orders and evaluates diagnostic studies; e. Performs and monitors therapeutic procedures; f. Documents historical, physical, assessment and plan information to the medical record. 2. In conjunction with the Physician, nursing and other health care disciplines, the Physician Assistant is responsible to evaluate and help direct the individualized care of patients. 3. Prescribes and regulates medications per written physician practice agreement and in compliance with prescriptive authority requirements. 4. Performs and documents results of History and Physical examination for admission, observation, consultation or clinic visit for assigned patients. 5. This APP will have the opportunity to capitalize on his/her clinical expertise in the areas of office spine triage to appropriately assess, diagnose, and treat patients. In addition, this APP will also have the opportunity for cross training in the operating room. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, motivated, high functioning, and seeking a role where they can make a meaningful impact and contribution to patients needing neurosurgical care. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday.

Job Duties

  • At Goodman Campbell, we function as a team.
  • Communication and collaborative planning are vital for smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Proactively reviewing clinic schedules and communicating with other team members such as the neurosurgeon, fellow APPs, MAAs, and other staff.
  • Assessing and triaging new referrals for clinic.
  • Triaging patient phone calls and providing treatment plans and counseling.
  • Ensuring patients are seen in a timely fashion.
  • Diagnosing and developing treatment plans for patients.
  • Ordering imaging, injections, and referral to the Neurosurgeon when needed.
  • Completing clinic notes before the end of the day to ensure seamless care.
  • Providing assistance and guidance to central scheduling and the MAA for clinical matters.
  • Authorize and discuss prescription refills.
  • Assess and triage second opinion medical records documentation.
  • Assist in triaging patient phone calls for image review, collaborating with the neurosurgeon for concerns that are time-sensitive.
  • Assist in completing peer to peer reviews with insurance companies for patient imaging, prior authorization for treatment plans, and medication needs.
  • Provide one on one communication with patients and/or families to deliver education and treatment plans regarding medical diagnoses.
  • Assist in preparing a patient for potential surgery, recognizing the preferences of the Neurosurgeon.
  • Attend spine conference to engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborate with interventional pain management team within GCBS on patients when appropriate.
  • Acting as first assistant to the neurosurgeon in the operating room.
  • Assist in calling patients before and after surgery to provide education on OR- preop assessment, post op expectations, home care etc

Educational and Experience Required

Education: Master?s Degree in Nursing with National Certification as an Adult, Acute Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner or Masters from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and national certification from NCCPA or AAPA.

Licensure and Certification: Requires current unlimited Indiana State license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant

  • Requires unlimited Indiana controlled substances registration certificate
  • Requires unlimited DEA
  • Current BLS Certification

Preferred Experience: Previous experience with neurosurgery is preferred. Previous experience as an APP is preferred. Previous experience in a fast-paced clinic setting.
