Job description GENERAL SUMMARY Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various duties assisting nursing and medical staff in the treatment and care of patients, utilizing principles specific to adolescents, adults and elderly patients.

Provides morning care, (bed bath, if necessary, changing of bed linens, dressing patient) and evening care (back rubs, freshening bed linen, undressing patient) and other general care, as necessary throughout the day.
3.
As directed, takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, (intake/output measurements and blood pressure as applicable).
4.
Assists with pre-operative care, such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patient with proper body mechanics, applying/utilizing special equipment as necessary, and ambulating patient as directed.
5.
Prepares patients for meals, distributes food trays, assists or feeds patients, as necessary, and removes tray; distributes drinking water and other nourishments to patients.
6.
Transports patients to an from various areas, as necessary; collects specimens and transports same to proper areas, as requested.
7.
Makes rounds to assigned patients, anticipates patients' needs,and answers/responds to patient call lights or paging; reports (and where appropriate, records) any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient; also, contributes to nursing care plan.
8.
Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment by reporting equipment that is out of order, reporting other problems to management, cleaning equipment, as assigned, and preparing same for disinfection and receiving linen and supply stock on the unit.
9.
Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:
We expect you to have:
- DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team in South Holland for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This role will involve providing high-quality speech and language services to students across multiple schools, focusing on a diverse caseload with a strong emphasis on autism spectrum disorders and communication device usage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Services: Provide therapy focused on language development, articulation, and communication skills for students with speech-language impairments.
- Evaluation & Assessment: Screen and assess students for speech and language disabilities, including autism-related communication challenges. Conduct thorough evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
- ARD Development & Progress Monitoring: Develop and meet with the ARD committee for students with speech and language goals. Track and report on student progress in alignment with the school grading schedule and ARD reviews.
- Collaboration: Work closely with general and special education teams to support students' academic and communication needs. Provide guidance and counseling to parents, teachers, and staff.
- Specialized Care: Provide habilitation and prevention services for students with speech, voice, hearing, or language challenges. Offer referrals for additional medical or professional attention as necessary.
- Screenings & Follow-ups: Conduct routine hearing screenings and provide referrals for students with speech or language concerns.
- Professional Development & Mentorship: Participate in ongoing professional development. Opportunity to mentor student therapists and new team members, supporting their growth and certification needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensing: Valid IL PEL in Speech Language Pathology
- Experience: Expertise working with students on the autism spectrum, including those using communication devices.
- Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapy skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Preferred: Experience working with diverse student needs in both elementary and secondary school settings.
