A global logistics and harbor transportation company is seeking a bilingual Import & Export Coordinator. They are looking for a professional to join their U.S. operations to help bridge the gap between North American and Asian markets.
About the Role
A bilingual Import & Export Coordinator will be responsible for managing logistics and ensuring compliance in international trade operations.
Responsibilities
- Global Freight Management: Manage end-to-end ocean and air freight forwarding operations, primarily focusing on routes between North America, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.
- Specialized Project Cargo: Coordinate the logistics for high-value, large-scale shipments including heavy machinery and industrial plant equipment.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all shipments adhere to Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) regulations and manage necessary import/export documentation.
- Strategic Consulting: Provide logistics consulting to help corporate clients optimize their supply chains and navigate North American customs.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of shipments, from initial booking and drayage to final on-site installation at the client’s facility.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years in freight forwarding, maritime logistics, or international trade.
- Language Skills: Business-level fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Japanese (only conversational) is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of FMC regulations and Incoterms. Experience with oversized freight is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-touch service standards. Must be a collaborative team player comfortable working within a small, focused operational group.

Pay range and compensation package
$60K-65K/year DOE
