Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited residency in Urology.
- Board certification or eligibility in Urology is preferred.
- Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is advantageous.
- Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems is required.
- Familiarity with clinical trials and research methodologies is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience administering injections and performing procedures such as spinal taps or dialysis is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled OR physician assistant/RNFA to join our cardiac surgery OR team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to partner with cardiac surgeons and OR Nursing staff.
Schedule:
- Four ten-hour clinical shifts/week
- On-call requirement during non-routine working hours to assist attending physicians in urgent and emergency procedures
Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiothoracic surgeons during surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, and other complex cardiac surgeries
- Perform tissue handling including making incisions, retracting, dissecting, tying, ligating, stapling, suturing and providing hemostasis
- Perform chest closure, including chest wires when indicated. Routinely closes the leg and chest soft tissue layers. Assists in transporting the patient from the O.R. to the CVSICU/ PACU
- Performs endoscopic or open harvesting of the saphenous vein during coronary artery bypass procedures and preparation of the vein for bypass
- Performs endoscopic or open harvesting of the radial artery during coronary artery bypass procedures and prepares radial artery for bypass
- First or second assisting with cannulation, graft anastomosis, valve placement, decannulation, femoral access catheters (including IABP) or any other task of open-heart procedures
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Masters or Doctorate in Nursing, Acute Care NP.
- For Acute Care NP, certified as an RNFA.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- OR experience, at least 2 years, required. Prior experience of 2 years caring for cardiac surgery patient population and proficiency in performing endovascular vein harvest (including arterial harvest) is preferred.
Salary Range: Minimum $58.60/hour - Maximum $90.83/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.

- Facilitate communication between own team and other consulting medical services.

- Must maintain clinical documentation and response to patient and staff messaging in accordance with hospital/SOM bylaws.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Certification by the NCCPA or similar national certifying body.
- Completion of a CAAHEP-certified Physician Assistant program.
- Must be licensed as PA in the State of Maryland or other states where practicing.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- A minimum of one year experience as a Dermatology PA.
