A well-established Mid-Atlantic insurance defense firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Roanoke office.
This role offers hands-on exposure across a diverse insurance defense litigation docket, meaningful courtroom experience, and direct collaboration with experienced trial attorneys.

Responsibilities
- Manage approximately 30–40 active litigation files
- Handle personal injury, premises liability, products liability, general liability, and civil claims
- Appear in Virginia State and Federal Court
- Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Participate in trial preparation and strategy
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and claims professionals
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Virginia Bar admission
- 1–5 years of litigation experience (open to more senior candidates)
- Insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong writing and motion practice skills
- Deposition experience preferred
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a busy docket independently
Compensation
- Base salary range: $95,000 – $135,000 plus performance-based bonuses.
- Annual incentives available above 1,850 billable hours.

- Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member's medical record using a proprietary system.
Requirements
